1. Quami Ekta Week is celebrated for seven whole days with different aims on each day. 2. Quami Ekta week starts on the 19th of November which is also the birth anniversary of the first female Prime Minister of India, late Mrs. Indira Gandhi. 3. Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s tenure as prime minister was driven with peace, prosperity, and unity and that is the reason Quami Ekta week is celebrated on her birth anniversary. 4. Mrs. Indira Gandhi sacrificed her own life for the unity of the country when she was assassinated in the year 1984. 5. Mrs. Indira Gandhi has gained enough experience in politics from her father and first Prime Minister of the country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. 6. Quami Ekta Week is also known as National Integration Day in the country and people across the length and breadth of the country celebrate this week with zeal and enthusiasm. 7. Values of unity in diversity are propagated in schools, colleges, and universities on National Integration Day. 8. 19th of November is known as national integration day, and it is on this day that a sense of unity is inculcated to students in schools and colleges. 9. On the 20th of November which is the second day of the Quami Ekta week is celebrated as the Welfare of minorities Day. 10.
