Corrosion mapping consists of scanning the surface of the test piece with or without Grid and
measuring the remaining material thickness for each position.
•Corrosion mapping is a process of creating a visual representation of the corrosion damage on a surface.
•This is typically done by collecting data on the thickness of the material at various points over the surface.
•The data is then used to create a color-coded map that shows the areas of most severe corrosion.
Non-destructive:
Corrosion mapping does not damage the material being Quantitative: Corrosion mapping can provide
inspected. quantitative data on the extent of corrosion damage.
