II. Session Outline
Session Title: " POLAR VORTEX: The Supreme Squall of Winter”
Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Objectives: a) understand the effects of the cold phenomenon on people and
climate,
b) explain the scientific reasons behind extreme cold among the
people in the tropical country,
c) illustrate the connection between polar vortex and wind
motion.
Key Concepts:  Deepen the understanding of polar vortex and wind science
and how it affects the people in the Philippines.
 Recognize that polar vortex and wind science are gifts of
nature.
III. Teaching Strategies

Activity: Present the Illustration of Polar Vortex: Engage
the Learners with their observation
Materials: board, markers, polar vortex illustration
 Introduce the topic. Display the illustration of
Polar Vortex.
 Ask, "How do you feel during early dawn”? “Is it
cold”? “What could be the possible reason behind
this”?
 Share/Write experiences.
Activity 2: Vocabulary: Arrange the letters to come up
Introduction and with the correct word based on the meaning presented.
