Aside from being my dream profession since I was a kid, my peers fueled my passion to join the PNP

organization. Since my primary stage in school, we like to portray law enforcers and play toy with guns in
our war games. My interest in law enforcement grew stronger when I made my decision to take the
criminology course at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. After finishing my bachelor’s degree, I
have already decided that I will choose PNP because I believe that being a police officer suits my
character and ability. At first it was very staggering and full of difficulties, there was some point that I
want to back out but my aspirations and perseverance prevailed. I am very fortunate because God
permitted me to be part of one of the most prestigious organizations in the country, The PNP.

But why PNP? in the PNP the starting salary is above the average compensation that you will bargain
from other government agencies and even in private companies. Aside from that, the security of tenure
and benefits that you will gain in the service is stable. The advancement in the career is also to be
considered because you can excel in your profession and pursue higher education like graduate schools
and other seminars and training that will enhance your knowledge and skills.

In your journey as a police officer, you will encounter different kinds of people. Many cultures and
traditions from different provinces will be introduced to you. From all walks of life and status, there will
be a time you will be deployed in far-flung areas and sometimes you will be augmented in major cities.
The best part of being a police officer is being a public servant. Serving the people and securing them
from criminals is a reputable profession. For me being a police officer is a calling rather than a job that
fulfills our necessities, it is a noble profession that requires great sacrifices and dedication. As they said,
many were called but few were chosen.
