Argument

My project thesis is called Simply the best "Backstreet Boys then and now".

I chose this subject because even if it sounds foolish, I have learnt many things from these boys and I
hope that you will have the same feeling after hearing who they are. From them as I mentioned in my
argument of this thesis, I learned how to be simple, loving, caring, understanding, forgiving, but also
humble, no matter how famous you are.

BSB appeared in Orlando, Florida in 1993 and its members are AJ Mclean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Litrell,
Howie Dorough and Nick Carter. They became famous tho only in 1996 with their album Backstreet Boys.
Instantly they became known all over the world and in the following years they only grew more and
more.

AJ McLean was born on the 9th of January 1978 and is a singer, dancer, actor and entertainer, but his
career was also a bumpy one due to drug and alcohol abuse.

Howie Dorough was born on 22 Augusut 1973 and is a singer and songwriter, musician, actor and
businessman. He is also involved in charitable actions, is married and has two children.

Nick Carter was born on 28 January 1980 he is also a musician, composer but also a writer. He was a solo
artist, releasing 2 solo albums. He had problems with drugs and alcohol, but overcame them and wrote a
book.

Kevin Richardson was born on 3 October 1971. He is a singer, dancer and model. Is married and has two
children.

Brian Litrell was born on 20 February 1975 and is one of the most recognizible voice together with Nick
Carter's, so that is why for his solo albums was very appreciated. He is married and has one child.

Maybe you wonder how I came to learn so many things from them. Well, let me tell you that ll of their
songs have a message. They have been written with the heart and relate to any of us because they talk
about love, betrayel, passions, forgiveness, sadness, but also happiness and purpose of life in general.

Let me just give you some examples of their most known songs titles and you will understand this: As
long as you love me, Drowning, Incomplete, Quit playing games with my heart, Get down, We've got it
goin' on, Never gone, Inconsolable, I still. If you looked for the lyrics of any of these songs you will see
that the title is only the beggining of the message, they go deeper and sometimes leave you marked for
lifetime with them. One of my favorite ones is: "I tried to go on like I never knew you, I’m awake but my
world is half asleep, I pray for this heart to be unbroken, But without you all I’m going to be is
incomplete". As you may see, they are love lyircs, but I generalized them and think about all my dear
ones and how my life would feel so incomplete without their love and appreciation.
This family of 5 boys, because this how I see them, cme through many hardships and remained close
together and still prove after 22 years that their true passion, music can still be of huge succes even tho
they had to change completely their style of songs through the years. That takes a lot of courage and
determination and this is a treat that I also want to have everyday of my life.
