THE RISE OF NATIONALISM IN EUROPE

changed the political and mental world of Europe and the end
result was nation state .

The French Revolution and the idea of the Nation :

With the outbreak of the revolutionary wars ,
the French armies
began to carry the idea of nationalism abroad .

But the initial enthusiasm soon turned to hostility ,

in hand with political freedom .

required to conquer the rest of Europe ,


all seemed to outweigh

advantage of administrative
changes .
