Topic: How to resolve Economic Migration in Arab-African countries?

Sponsors: Western Sahara, Argelia, Libya, Morocco
Signatories:

The General Assembly,

We ask for the recognition of the economic challenges faced by the populations of Western
Sahara, Algeria, Libya, and Morocco, thus acknowledging the importance of addressing the
root causes of economic migration to ensure stability and prosperity in the region. In the need
for a comprehensive approach to address these challenges, the United Nations Assembly:

1. Establishment of a Regional Migration Forum:

We propose the creation of a regional migration forum involving the governments of
Western Sahara, Algeria, Libya, and Morocco. This forum will serve as a platform for
cooperation, information sharing, and coordination on issues related to economic
migration in the region.
2. Promotion of Human Rights:
We call for the respect of human rights and the provision of support to vulnerable
migrants. We urge the participating countries to ensure that their migration policies
and practices uphold the dignity and rights of our migrants, including those seeking
economic opportunities.
a. Affirming the commitment to uphold the human rights of migrants,
irrespective of their immigration status.
b. Establishing mechanisms to combat human trafficking and ensure the
protection of vulnerable migrants.
c. To protect the rights and well-being of migrants, including access to
education, healthcare, and fair working conditions.
3. Addressing the Root Causes of Migration:
We recognize that the primary cause of economic migration in the region is the lack
of economic opportunities. We urge the participating countries to work together to
create jobs, promote economic growth, and reduce poverty, which will help reduce
the incentives for migration.
a. Encouraging investment in sustainable industries and infrastructure to
stimulate economic growth in the region.
b. Implementing vocational training programs to enhance the skills of the local
workforce.
4. Strengthening Border Management:
We propose the establishment of a regional border management system to facilitate
the safe and orderly movement of people and goods across the region. This system
should include the development of infrastructure, such as roads, ports, and airports, as
well as the implementation of efficient border crossing procedures.
5. Regional Development Initiatives:
We call for the promotion of regional development initiatives, such as infrastructure
projects, trade agreements, and investment schemes, to foster economic growth and
integration among the participating countries.
6. International Support:
We urge the international community, including the United Nations, to support the
efforts of the participating countries in addressing economic migration and promoting
regional stability and development.
7. Resolution of the Western Sahara Conflict:
We recognize the ongoing conflict over Western Sahara and its impact on the region's
stability and development. We call for increased international support to resolve the
conflict and promote decolonization in the region.

By adopting this resolution, we commit to working together to address the issue of economic
migration in Western Sahara, Algeria, Libya, and Morocco, while promoting peace, stability,
and development in the region.
