Locomotor Skills
Walking is a slow locomotor
skill that involves moving the
body from one place to

movement moves forward or

curved or angular position.
Flexing is a non-locomotor
movement. Non-locomotor
movements are fundamental body
movements that don't involve
traveling. They are also called axial
movements. Non-locomotor
movements do not involve moving
the body from one place to another.
Swinging is a non-locomotor
movement that involves moving a body
part back and forth. It can also mean
moving a body part from side to side or
forward and back.
Turning is a non-locomotor
movement that involves rotating the
body around its base. Non-
locomotor movements are
performed in one place without
changing location. They can be used
in exercise, dance, and
choreography.
