ENGLISH “ANIMAL FARM” PROJECT TERM 2

Dear Baccalaureate 1 students,

As in Term 2 we are reading “Animal Farm” by George Orwell and we have already studied a
variety of writing techniques, I would like you to create a poster with 3 main points. You can
be as creative as you like but remember to add what is required.

As discussed in class the due date for the project is on the 24th of February 2023.

The requirements are the following:

• On a A2 cardboard (supplied by NCC)

• A Main Heading and subheadings
• Student’s name and surnames at the BACK of the cardboard
• Images
• 3 pieces of writing connected to Animal Farm must be included:
1. Character analysis – choose a character from the novel Animal farm
(describe the character, their characteristics, the relationship to other
characters and allegory in novel).
2. The importance of Propaganda - what is propaganda, what is the importance
of it, choose one either linked to historical events or that time period. You
could also create your own linked to Animal Farm!
3. Choose between writing a review or writing a letter.
o Write an opinion essay of Animal Farm by George Orwell on the
following idea, “While this novel is an allegory of the Russian
Revolution, the main themes are still relevant today.”
o Write a letter. Write as if you were an animal living on Animal Farm
who’s writing to a friend on another farm, tell them what is happening
or has been happening.

Your work should be done neatly, written out or typed coherently. Use a spell check program
to make sure you have NO spelling mistakes.

Projects are individual and should be worked on at home, some class time will be given, which
should be used constructively. Projects should be handed in as a poster before or on the due
date.

Enjoy doing it as I know I look forward to reading all your pieces of writing.

Kind regards,

Miss Nicolene
