MY WORK IMMERSION JOURNEY: A DEVELOPMENTAL PORTFOLIO

As an immersionist, I had the opportunity to experience the daily life of my barangay and to interact with the people who
call it home. Through this experience, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the challenges that many of our fellow citizens
face on a daily basis. I learned to be patient when interacting with patients, particularly those who are sick or struggling with
physical or mental health issues. This experience has also taught me how to listen attentively to their concerns and provide
empathy and support At first, I had some reservations about my ability to socialize with my fellow immersionists. However, I
quickly learned that our shared experiences and common goals brought us together, and we were able to form strong bonds
despite our initial apprehensions. This experience has taught me that we should never underestimate our ability to connect with
others, n when we feel different or out of place. As a senior high school student preparing for college, this immersion experience
has been invaluable. It has provided me with a unique perspective on the world around me and helped me to develop essential
skills such as empathy, patience, and adaptability. I have also learned the importance of active listening and effective
communication, which are skills that will serve me well in any academic or professional setting.

One quote that comes to mind when reflecting on my immersion experience is by the famous author and activist, Helen Keller.
She once said, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." This quote speaks to the importance of
having a broader perspective and a clear vision of what we hope to achieve. Through my immersion experience, I have gained a
deeper understanding of the challenges facing our society and have also developed a clearer vision of how I can make a positive
impact in the world.

In conclusion, my immersion experience has been a transformative one, providing me with a deeper understanding of the world
around me and equipping me with the skills and perspective needed to make a positive impact in society. As I move forward, I
will continue to draw on the lessons and insights gained through this experience, always striving to make a difference and be a
force for positive change. Thus as a humanities and social science student this immersion experience of mine definitely plays a
significant thing where in as a student experiencing working with some of the social workers and being aware of the issues and

MY WORK IMMERSION JOURNEY: A DEVELOPMENTAL PORTFOLIO 28

concerns in my community if gives me knowledge, understanding and be a holistic person in every situation Additionally
being a student who is graduating and step in the world of universities I can proudly and confidently execute on what I have
learned during my experiences in my work immersion journey, in collage you must be understanding to the differences of
others, patience in a way that you must have a wide and open mind to use the other opinions of others positively, and be
resourceful because resourcefulness can be as difficult as tsunami to be survive but I can say that if there is a solution.
