01. Filtration
This is the process of separating solid particles from a liquid using a porous
material called a filter.
The technique consists of pouring the mixture of the liquid with the solid to be
treated over a filter that allows the liquid to pass through but that retains the solid.

We will prepare the materials and proceed to

pour the liquid over the filter paper so that the
solid stays on the paper and the liquid under the
funnel

02. Evaporation
The evaporation is a physical process that consite in the change of the liquid state to gaseous state.
This situation happen when the temperature increise.

For example, the water evaporation happen when the temperature increise to 100ºC

03. Cristallisation
It is a separation method, wich is used to obtein solids
from their solutions by crystals form. This method works
because soluble solids tend to be less soluble at lower
temperatures.

Steps:
-Heat the solution to evaporate some of the water
-Slow Cooling: the molecules of the substance will form crystals
-Remove the crystals by filtering
-Clean the cystals and dry them

04. Simple distillation
It is a separation method based on the boiling point of a liquid.
The components in a sample mixture are vaporized by the application of heat. When the vapour arrives to
the condenser, which has a lower temperature, it turn into a liquid phase again. The drops will fall into a
beaker.

05. Fractional distillation
It is a separation method based on the different but close boiling points of various liquids. We have to apply
heat and the liquids will be vaporized when each boiling point is reached.
Again, the condenser changes the phase of the vapours into liquids and the drops will fall in the
correspondent beakers.
