    Materials: One worksheet for each pair of students
    Language: Writing an email with news
    • Tell students that they are going to work with a partner to write an email to a friend about their
    news, and that first they are going to plan what they are going to say in their email.
    • Put students into pairs and hand out a worksheet to each pair. Set a time limit for the pairs to markers
    discuss the questions in Exercise 1 and to write their answers in note form.
    • Then tell them to look at Exercise 2 and match their answers from Exercise 1 with the parts of
    the email. They should write out their notes into complete sentences.
    • When they have finished, invite pairs to read out their emails to the class.
