Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Place" proves to be a multifaceted challenge, akin to
navigating through an intricate labyrinth of ideas and perspectives. The difficulty lies not only in the
broadness of the topic but also in the inherent subjectivity that comes with defining and
conceptualizing a space dedicated to the art of essay writing.

Firstly, the ambiguity of the term "Essay Place" poses a hurdle right from the outset. Is it a physical
location, a mental space, or perhaps a metaphorical realm? Attempting to decipher and articulate the
essence of such a concept requires a delicate balance between creativity and analytical thinking.

Moreover, the writing process involves delving into the historical evolution of essays, exploring the
diverse genres and styles that have emerged over time. This necessitates extensive research and an
in-depth understanding of literary traditions, all while weaving a narrative that captivates the reader's

Furthermore, the challenge lies in addressing the dynamic nature of the essay as a form of
expression. The essay has evolved over centuries, adapting to cultural, societal, and technological
shifts. Balancing the exploration of traditional essay structures with the incorporation of modern
perspectives adds another layer of complexity to the task.

Additionally, the subjective nature of writing amplifies the difficulty. Every individual may perceive

understanding and acknowledging the diversity of perspectives becomes a delicate tightrope walk.

Effects Of Sesame Street On The Education Of Young Children
When introduced to the idea of an epidemic, people are urged to think of viruses,
fashion trends, or even peaks of crime. One does not see something as virtuous as
Sesame Street to be a wide spreading contagion. Yet, Sesame Street provoked a social
epidemic as one of the most influential children s television programs of its time.
Malcolm Gladwell has studied the effects of Sesame Streeton the education of young
children in his novel, The Tipping Point. He has three overall generalizations of all
epidemics, including the Law of the Few, the Stickiness Factor, and the Power of
Context. I will apply these generalizations to his example of Sesame Street to support
Gladwell s argument. In addition, I will support his argument using the philosophical
theories of Alasdair McIntyre and Theodore M. Porter. Overall, Gladwell poses a
convincing argument that the success of Sesame Street is due to the complete
combination of his three generalizations. The beginning of Sesame Street as an epidemic
began with the very start of the television program. Television producer, Joan Ganz
Cooneyembarked on a mission to create a children s learning epidemic (Gladwell 89).
Many epidemics that are covered in Gladwell s novel are unintentional. The producers of
Sesame Street, however, purposefully researched the effect of their show to ensure that it
was impactful. It is arguable whether or not they wanted to provoke an epidemic, but the
effects of the program were completely intentional. In

Interest rate swap basics

Swaps, being highly liquid derivatives, are not traded on stock exchange, but facilitated
by over the counter (OTC) trading. Interest rate swap is an arrangement between two
parties whereby they exchange one set of interest payment for another. The most
widespread arrangement is when fixed rate interest payments are exchange for floating
rate interest payment on some notional amount over the time. This notional amount is
generally not exchanged between counterparties, but is used only for calculation of the
size of cash flows to be exchanged, and what is more, usually only resulting cash flow
(difference between fixed and floating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the requirements imposed for the calculator are met.
Before we value the plain vanilla swap, we need to input the following parameters:
Notional
Contract period (Since the majority of interest rate swaps have a contract period
between 1 year and 5 years, I decided to specify it within this interval.)
Fixed interest rate
Frequency of payments (1, 2 or 4 times a year)

After all the values of the required variables are entered, the button Calculate should be
clicked to obtain the swap present value and such intermediate values like PV of fixed
CF and PV of floating CF, the difference of which is actually the swap present value.

The table below represents the logic of the swap calculator.

Explanation of columns:
Column (1) represents maturity in parts of the year. The scale interval is set as 0.25,
since maximum possible payment frequency (for this calculator) is 4 times per annum.
Column (2): I set forward LIBOR rates as floating interest rates. Depending on payment
frequency, 1 year, 6 month or 3 month LIBOR rates are set as
Theme Across Genres Essay
Chapter 2 Theme Across Different Genres
It has become a daily conflict for most people in the world to experience or witness
discrimination of another race, gender, identity, or appearance of someone else. What
people don t realize is that just because someone may appear or identify different,
doesn t mean they are at a lower or higher status than you. I grew up in a very diverse
area. My elementary school had a program for students learning English who came from
outside of the United States. There were hundreds of students from other countries at my
school, which helped me build up a confidence that I should be proud to be different,
because nobody at my school was the exact same. Diversity is something that every
person should be proud ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The song lyrics in Where is the Love relate to what Catherine learns about accepting
Jason and David s differences. The lyrics say that if you only love your own kind, then
you only have space to hate others. Catherine learns that the whole world isn t like the
OT clinic where differences don t matter, and that there will be people who aren t as
aware of others differences. Both texts also show no matter what someone else thinks
doesn t mean that you have to think that same way. Towards the end of Rules, Kristi
shows that she was weirded out by the fact that Catherine s friend was in a wheelchair
and couldn t talk. In Where is the Love , it says that no matter how much madness you
show, it s not going to change the thoughts of someone else. No matter how much a
person strongly dislikes someone elses differences, they will not change and there is
nothing that person can do to change those differences to their liking, and that s what
makes us all unique. Both texts show that you can t change a person because of your
own opinion, and we have to accept that. Just because the person next to you appears
different and isn t exactly like you, doesn t mean you have the rights to bother them about
their differences, because you can t change them and they are in fact, no different than
Citizenfour Film Analysis
CitizenFour is a documentary that suspensefully follows the unraveling of the leaks
about the NSA as carried out by Laura Poitras, Glenn Greenwald, and Edward Snowden.
The documentary begins with introducing the theme of the film, risk and democracy.
CitizenFour begins with a voice over from a government agent who explains their
position, their mission, and their foresight in revealing information pertaining to the
NSA and Untied States government. The film proceeds with introductory and diverse
accounts about how surveillancehas been integrated into our society with such things like
linkabilty. The film then moves into the narrative in the form of vignettes of Edward
Snowden and Glenn Greenwald. Edward relays all of the information and documents that

In terms of the technology and collaboration being utilized to create a surveillance state,
the filmmaker includes the perspectives of several experts to discuss the many examples
of questionable state control. This is seen in the discussion about linkability, the AT T
trial, the Verizon scandal, and the various NSA programs. All of these discussions
demonstrate what contribute to my impression of the film understanding the
overwhelming power and potential for control the government has been enacting for
years. In addition to the technology, the film consistently discusses the principality of this
issue. Edward Snowden, Glenn Greenwald, Mr. Applebaum, and many others understand
that while this is and will always be interpreted as a political statement, the motivation for
revealing and discussing such realities is rooted in defending democracy. The film is
somewhat a self fulfilling prophecy in that sense the NSA power increase post 9/11 was
justified under the guise of national security and those condemning Snowden and
Greenwald claim the same the threat. However, on a much larger level, the revelatory
