Hello Fernando,
Unfortunately we don't have a instruction for adding a common mode choke. I also don't have this experience. But I
can give you some recommendation base on my knowledge.
1. Before start the job, ground the drive, LOTO main breaker, switch off the pumps, drain the internal cooling water.
2. Remove two busbars and install two busbars as shown in below picture.

3. Install the resistor assembly. The four resistors are two in serial and then in parallel.

4. Grease the support beams of the common mode choke inside the cabinet.
5. Place the new choke on the steel plate.
6. Push the new choke into the cabinet.
7. Faster the two screws to fix the internal terminal with busbar. (M12, tightening torque: 30 Nm)
8. Fix the choke with the four screws. (M10, tightening torque: 20 Nm).
9. Connect the resistors to choke winds S.

10. Connect cooling tubes to the resistors, 4 resistors are in one water loop.
11. Connect cooling tubes to the coke, two water loops, one coil has one loop.
12. Connect two cables to the busbar. (M12, tightening torque: 30 Nm)

Hello team.

Customer Cerro Verde in Peru is going to add common mode chokes to 2 existing ACS1000 VFDs . They have already
bought the common mode choke and the resistors , the change is going to be done in august.

The VFDS are:

ACS1114-W3-X0-00-SL21-20NH-0C30-04DF-000C0-ES

S.N:989

S.N:990

I didn’t found in database a procedure to add or change the common mode choke , there is only a procedure to
change the sine filter choke , but accessories and location of the chokes are different.

I’m preparing the service for august , and I will appreciate if you help me with :

1. Is there an specific procedure to add a common mode choke? , please consider that these VFDs were
manufactured in 2005-2006 . Maybe some special recommendations would apply to some components by
age.
2. Is there a detailed accessory kit required ?. We received a list of components and a drawing , but the
component numbers in the drawing doesn’t match with the component numbers in excel spreadsheet.
