Exploring/Emerging (E) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader relies on ongoing assistance
from more experienced colleagues for support, guidance, and survival. The teacher leader is moving
toward becoming more self-directed and independent in her/his practice.

Applying (A) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader is able to provide independent
leadership and easily applies what s/he has learned about leadership.

Integrating/Innovating (I) - a level of development in which the teacher leader is fully skilled and
confident. The Integrating/Innovating teacher leader contributes to the broader educational community
through staff development, research, or publication in professional journals.

I am an ELPAC and CAASPP testing administrator, I wish I had more opportunities to work closely with

Attended a SANCOFA meeting in Long Beach Unified. I would love to develop some activities that can be
shared for black history month with my school.
As an education specialist in an SDC, I do collaborate
with many different people for my students.

Understanding disabilities is necessary to be


successful in my career. When I am struggling with a
particular disorder, I seek out opportunities to speak
to the BCBA, therapist, or those who have expertise to
help meet the need.

I believe collaboration is a strength and weakness of mine. I collaborate often with IEP shareholders and
parents. However, I do not interact much with general education teachers and much of the community at large.
I think primarily because I am an elementary teacher. I think I would have more opportunities as an education
specialist in highschool as I would be working on transition goals.
