Behind the lens, everything is possible. A person can be a janitor and an

Assistant Director simultaneously. The world of film is enormous, and there are

aspects of it that we have yet to comprehend and explore thoroughly. However, this

documentary shows things we might need to see in front of the camera. This is also

evidence that we may use our life experiences to learn and achieve our goals. This

documentary is about the life of Rey Carmelo.

Rey Carmelo, a 29-year-old maintenance worker and assistant director, works

for a company. Even though this is unfamiliar to us, he truly goes through this at the

Asia Pacific Film Institute, where he works daily. He began his employment in 2013.

Every morning he cleans, and every afternoon he helps the students. His career in

the film industry began when he was employed in a bakery. When he was an extra in

a show, he became intrigued by film after seeing the equipment used in it. At that

point, he developed an interest in this industry. He is also staying and sleeping at

APFI because his financial situation makes renting a home unaffordable. He only

has enough money from his 5,500 pesos monthly salary to send to the province and

cover his monthly expenses. Here, it is clear that movie producers and directors in

our nation earn a fair amount of money.

The documentary is both written and viewed from the first-person viewpoint.

The author discusses and shares his experiences before he entered the film industry
until now. This viewpoint is also evident in the subject's disagreements and conflicts

discussed in the documentary.

I can identify with the point of view, particularly in terms of storytelling in

writing and filmmaking. This documentary will help the audience comprehend the

message and watch it effectively. Although a movie can present a variety of points of

view, Rey's documentary also works well. I am also aware of his sincere desire to

portray the life of a filmmaker. It imparts a great deal of wisdom and value to

everyone who watches it. It conveys the pleasures and difficulties of working-class

life. Particularly those experiences that can teach us new information.

The desire to fulfill one's goals and pursue one's interests is one of the

feelings expressed by the documentary's viewpoints. Rey's desire to participate

more in the movie industry has been successfully demonstrated. It also displayed a

somber tone in which the difficulties of life and the need for money to support oneself

while working in a field that receives little attention in our nation were discussed.

Overall, the documentary's portrayal of emotions and tone was successful and will

be sufficient to get the audience's attention and convey the message.
