JANUARY GLORIFY HIM
Glorify Him
This is the foundation of all commands given to us in the Bible.
God created all human beings for the same purpose. Regardless of your
gender, race, social status, economic class, popularity, looks, or family.
You are called to glorify Him. Everything you do in life should be to bring
Him glory and honor. As a sinner, you will surely fail at times, but
remember that God is forgiving and merciful.
Dear Lord,
I praise you with everything in me. You are the Creator of all things,
perfect, all-knowing, loving and gracious. You know me inside and
out, and have planned every step I will take in my life. You alone are
worthy of all things. Help me this month to intentionally praise and
uplift you as I go about my daily life. Let all I do be done for your glory
and triumph.
Amen

JANUARY GLORIFY HIM
13
LIVE IT OUT:
01. Put off
This month, examine your life for things that may be stealing God’s
glory. What do you prioritize over Him? What is worth more to you?
Make a commitment to put off such things. That can look like taking a
short social media break, or opening the Bible in the morning before
opening your phone. It could mean giving up a social event or two so
you can make it to church on Sunday mornings. Do what you need to
do to restore your Heavenly Father to His rightful place as first in your
life.
02. Put on
Every day this month - Sing along with one song of praise to God.
For all of January, take a break from all social media. Use that time to
be in the Word and pray.

FEBRUARY FEAR HIM
Fear Him
If you’ve been a Christian for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard
this verse a thousand times. And its truth still stands. Fearing the Lord is
another command that is given to all Christians. To be clear, this isn’t a
fear of God rooted in anxiety and dread. Rather, it’s a reverent fear rooted
in awe and respect. It’s as if you fear God’s power, wisdom, and grace so
much that you deeply desire to obey and please Him. Again, not because
you fear the consequences, but because you genuinely love God.
Dear Lord,
Amen

FEBRUARY FEAR HIM

LIVE IT OUT:
01. Put off
This month, put off anything in your life that isn’t pleasing to the Lord.
Now, we’re not telling you to go crazy. There is much warrant for
discernment in living as a Christian in a sinful world. But maybe you
have been enjoying some things you know are not in line with God’s
Word. That could be books with erotic scenes, friendships that cause
you to sin repeatedly, a relationship with a guy who isn’t a Christian, or
a lifestyle more devoted to pleasing yourself than God. Whatever it is,
discard it with wisdom and surrender.
02. Put on
Then fill your life with God-honoring things. Read solid books to learn
more about God’s design for things like womanhood, marriage,
sexuality, parenting, etc. Find a mentor to guide you as you seek to
fear God more in your life.
At the end of each day, ask yourself what you did that was pleasing
and displeasing to God. Use this reflection to remind yourself to live for
God each day.

APRIL KINDNESS
Growing in kindness
God definitely wants His daughters to be full of solid, gentle character. All
of the traits in the above verse could be wrapped up under kindness.
Honestly, this doesn’t come naturally for everyone. Especially when we’ve
been hurt in our own lives. But that doesn’t change God’s commands to
us. You are a chosen child of God. And He desires for you to exemplify
His goodness through your own life. Growing in kindness won’t happen
overnight, and it’s more than just a kind word or deed out of obligation. It
needs to come from a genuine heart.
That being said, doing kind things is the best way to move your heart in
that direction.
Dear Lord,
you are my Father, and I want to live my life to honor You. I know you
command me to be kind, compassionate, humble, meek, and patient. I
can never be all of these things without you. Please help me as I work
to grow in these things. Give me opportunities to behave according to
Your Word.
Amen

LIVE IT OUT:
01. Put off
Pretty obvious, but put off unkindness. Practice holding back a sharp
word, a disrespectful eye roll, a selfish attitude. When you are tempted
to be unkind, think back to this verse and stay self-controlled.
02. Put on
Again, obvious, but put on kindness! Look for any opportunity to lift
someone up with a kind word, help someone out with a task, or bless
others anonymously.

LIVE IT OUT:
01. Put off
There are many things you could choose to put off this month. Pick the
one that most resonates with you: distrust, insecurity, faithlessness,
fear, apathy, carelessness. All of these things can inhibit your strength
in God. Don’t let them! Take it to God and find verses that expose the
lies of those habits.
02. Put on
Practice being strong in God. Meditate on these truths: You are His
forever. You can trust Him with your life. You are valuable to Him. He
won’t ever leave you. Nothing in life could take away His love for you
or break you down. You matter more to Him than His own life. He
wants you to be strong and trust in Him.
Spend an extra 10 minutes a day looking in the Bible for verses about
God’s care for you. Write them all in a journal or notebook and turn to
them when you need encouragement.

JUNE HUMBLE
Humility
One of our favorite ways to explain humility is with a C.S. Lewis quote:
“True humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”
He perfectly describes what biblical humility really is. It’s not degrading
yourself, it’s denying yourself. It’s not feeling worthless, it’s feeling
selfless. Humility means you put others before yourself regardless of
whether they deserve it or not. And you don’t puff yourself up in an effort
to fit in or show off, because you know that doesn’t matter. You are God’s
and that’s all the pride you need.
Dear Lord,
Amen
GIRLDEFINED.COM
JUNE HUMBLE
13
LIVE IT OUT:
01. Put off
Pride is the enemy of humility. It’s what makes you want to be the
center of attention, praised, and admired more than others. That’s a
dangerous spot to be. If you are the only one you worry about
pleasing, you won’t ever be satisfied. Again, you don’t have to start
telling yourself you’re less-than or worthless. You just need to reframe
who you’re living for—God. And living for Him means putting others
first, being satisfied in doing the right thing even when no one notices.
02. Put on
For the month of June, whoever you choose to uplift each day, also
spend 15 minutes praying for them. You could even ask them if they
have any specific prayer requests. Ask God to continue to bless,
grow, and guide them.

JULY WISDOM
Wisdom
The Bible mentions wisdom 222 times. It’s that important to God! It’s also
that serious. There are many warnings about the consequences of
foolishness, and most of them are pretty dire. Just in this verse from
Proverbs, we can see that folly tears down houses.
Now, it may not literally wreck them. But how many homes and families
are broken over hurtful words and actions? Godly wisdom can’t eliminate
sinfulness, but it can certainly build more than tear down.
Dear Lord,
I can see that wisdom is valued greatly in Your eyes. I want to pursue
the wisdom you offer. Help me to find it. Please put people in my life
who will speak life and wisdom over me. Let me listen intently and
take to heart the biblical advice I find.
Amen

AUGUST WORKS HARD
Works hard
The Proverbs 31 woman is by far the most used example of Godly
womanhood in the Bible. What’s great about that is she is in no way a
weak, wimpy doormat, waiting for her husband to dictate her day. She
blesses her family day in and day out, works from dawn until dusk, even
running her own business! Now, you don’t have to live exactly like her to
be honoring to God (after all, He has a unique plan for each of us). But her
work ethic and desire to thrive are well worth copying.
Dear Lord,
You know the value of hard work. Help me to see it as You do. Please
put in me the diligence of the Proverbs 31 woman. Remind me to work
hard at the things You’ve put in my life.
Amen

Commit to growing in work ethic slowly, and it will happen.

SEPTEMBER SERVES OTHERS

Serving others isn’t easy for most people, whether that’s because they
are shy, unsure of what’s helpful, or feel like they have little to give. But
it’s a vital aspect of the Christian life. Jesus came to serve, not to be
served. If the Creator of mankind chose to serve us during His short time
on earth, certainly we can do our best to do the same.
Dear Lord,
thank you for all You’ve done for me. For sending Your Son to die, so
that I might live in freedom from my sin. For giving Your all for me,
and for Christ’s example of a servant’s heart. Help me to emulate that
in my own life. Show me the people who could use help and
encouragement. Let me be Your hands and feet.

OCTOBER SELF-CONTROL
Self-control
This verse packs a punch! It says so much in one little sentence. Here,
Christian women are instructed to be more concerned with self-control
than with looks or status. Because that is what women who profess
godliness do—they honor God through the way they conduct themselves.
So, on the inside and outside, you’re supposed to live respectably, no
matter the circumstances. Notice how the author doesn’t say it’s easy. He
just says that it’s right.

Hospitality
Hospitality isn’t talked about much today. But it should be! Homes aren’t
meant to only be a refuge and place to recharge. They’re also meant to
be places of sharing the gospel, loving others, and making them feel
welcome. Hospitality was a great virtue in Bible times. And though how
we express it today will look different than it did then, it’s still just as
important to the Christian woman. Keep in mind that hospitality is not
entertaining, it’s having a welcoming home, inviting atmosphere, and
being a blessing to those who come.

What is keeping you from being hospitable? Do you think your house is
too messy, your kids too loud, your life too busy? Some of those things
may require actual changes (like a schedule so busy your family hardly
eats a meal together). But most of them actually just need to be let go.
So what if your living room is littered with toddler toys, or your laundry
is sitting out? If it truly bothers you, you can change it. But if it’s
stemming from vanity and pridefulness, let it go. You may be surprised
how freeing it is.
