LABORATORY ACTIVITY 2
How to prepare SUPER GLUE METHOD in developing fingerprints
Materials:
a) Superglue
b) Aluminum Dish/ Dish Plate
c) Fuming Chamber (you can improvise)
d) Non-porous object with latent fingerprint
Procedure:
1. Hang the non-porous object with the latent fingerprint mark into the fuming chamber
with its surface
being exposed latent print processing (developing). (“You can add a fingerprint mark to
the inside wall of the chamber to give you a good indicator of
when the prints are done developing.”)
2. Add an aluminum dish inside the chamber and add a few drops of liquid
cyanoacrylate (superglue)
into the dish.
4. Wait at least 20-30 minutes to have complete developed latent impressions on the
objects evidence
being processed in the fuming chamber.

LABORATORY ACTIVITY 3
Materials:
a) Candle
b) Soft Brush (made from soft feathers)
c) Non-combustible Plate (ex: metal or ceramic)
d) Non-porous object with latent fingerprint
Procedure:
1. Take a non-porous object, leave it with a fingerprint (“You can rub your thumb on the
side of your nose or forehead, and place an oily thumbprint on the object”)
2. Light the candle.
3. Place the plate above the flame of the candle with at least 1-inch distance from the
flame to produced soot.
4. Use improvised chicken feather brush to extract the candle soot from the plate.
5. Process the evidence by using the brush with candle flame soot.
6. Gently brush the excess powder off the print with the brush.
7. Place a piece of clear tape down on the powdered print. Then lift the developed
prints, normally by using fingerprint lifting tape (scotch tape)
