Avail Line Clearance with precautions In shut down, when the boiler pressure is decreasing, detect a possible leakage noise inside. Once the noise has been located, make sure that pressure has fallen at approximately 4 bar and that the exhaust gases are locked (guide vanes closed), then open carefully the nearest door as to the noise source and detect the leaking circuit. The first operation is also called "external preliminary inspection”. If the leakage location has not been detected, the boiler can be accessed once it has been cooled. Inspect the area in which the noise sounded louder; if the leakage is located in an easily accessible area of the boiler, it should be easy to detect. Otherwise make sure that the boiler is cold so as to discharge water. Slowly fill the boiler and check where the leakage is located through the access doors. Drain the boiler and inspect any possible damage. Filling and checking of the boiler depend on the damage; if the leakage is not considerable, the hydraulic test can be performed at the feeding pump pressure. . 2.
