3.7 Ensure Check Valves are installed for proper direction of flow.

4. THREADED VALVES

Install shutoff valve close to water main on each branch and riser
serving plumbing fixtures or equipment, on each water supply to

not have supply stops. Use ball or gate valves for piping NPS 2 (DN
50) and smaller

Ensure that the inlet and outlet threads are undamaged and free of

5. FLANGED GENERAL VALVES

Ensure Butterfly or Gate valves are utilized for piping NPS 2-1/2

Make sure there is no warpage of the flange or misalignment of the

Examine Flange faces for conditions that might cause leakage.


Check bolting for proper size, length, and material. Verify that

gasket is of proper size, that its material composition is suitable for
service, and that it is free from defects and damage.
