The Lovers, By Rachel Mcadams And Ryan Gosling
We re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I
want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me...everyday. Sound familiar? The lovers
are named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, also known as Duke. As young people,
these characters are played by Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. These actors portray
first loves and heartbreak that tugs on your heartstrings beautifully just wanting and
waiting for more.
Starting off the movie with a beautiful scene looking across a sunrise filled lake, which
it gives off a comfortable, warm feeling to the viewers at home or in the theater. Then
it pans out to an elder Noah Calhoun (played by James Garner) taking his daily
medicine in a nursing home. Third scene shows an also elderly Allie Hamilton (Gena
Rowlands) looking over the lake from her bedroom window. A nurse is asking her
several questions about how she is feeling and what she would like to do that day. Allie
doesn t give off any interest in doing anything the nurse is suggesting. Noah enters her
room with a notebook, offering to read to her. The nurse insists that Allie should do
something else but Allie quickly accepts Noah s offer and sits herself down to listen to
him read from the notebook that which she wrote many years ago. This sets up the
opening of the classic love story, The Notebook.
The setting goes between a summer in South Carolina in the 1940 s with the young
version of the lovers and present day time with the elderly version
Was The British Justified In Deporting Acadians
Acadia was a colony of New France located in northeastern North America during the
17th and 18th centuries, Which are now located in present day New Brunswick and
Nova Scotia. Acadians were the people who lived on the land, most of them had lived on
the land for generations and had built their farms with back breaking work. Those who
favor this position would argue that the British were justified in deporting the Acadians.
While others would argue the British were not justified. These are my reasons for why
the British were justified in deporting the Acadians.

One important argument that proves the British were justified in deporting the Acadians,
is that they could not trust them. Since Acadians were of French descent there was a

The Theory Of Justice And Ethics
Ethics is a topic that has been debated and discussed since the creation of humanity.
This is mostly due to the fact that there are a myriad of different moral codes that
people all around the world adhere to. Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher, wrote in his
Republic how he defines justice and how it s consequences drive people to be moral.
The word justice in this instance is loosely translated and can also stand for righteousness
in behavior (Clark Poortenga, 2003). Plato also wrote about a Sophist named
Thrasymachus who has his own opinion about justice and ethicsthat differs from Plato s
in many ways. Their debate and different views of justice shows why the human race
should be moral because conforming to a moral code benefits society as a whole, and
even if a person has a unique moral code, abiding by their ethics could still benefit them
in the long run.
To understand what Plato and Thrasymachus debated, it is important to completely
understand each of their sides. Plato was the pupil of the great philosopher Socrates
and they both agreed that people are just and moral because of the consequences of
their actions. The position can be summarized as people will be virtuous if they know
what virtue is; and vice, or evil, is the result of ignorance. (Ethics, n.d.). This means that
Plato believes people will be just and virtuous if they are aware of the consequences of
their actions whether it is good or bad. Plato believes that if someone is unjust and
immoral that
Persuasive Friendship
Who knew that switching lunches could change into 8 years of friendship? Well,
small, insignificant things can turn into big things. An example of that would be how
my best friend and I met. SUNNYVALE COMMUNITY CENTER, JULY 2OO9 I sat
down on a cold hard cube shaped stone slab, zipping open my blue and lavender
Tinkerbell lunch box. Inside, wrapped in aluminum foil, was the not so long awaited
PB J, but instead of bread, there was a tortilla.A tortilla! Who does that?! Well, it does
taste good, but my mom gave it to me so much that I soon got tired of it. I sighed. The
girl next to me sighed a few seconds later. Why are you sad? she asked me
inquisitively. My mom gave a PBJ in a tortilla when I told her not to for the millionth
time! I exclaimed, and maybe kind of exaggerated. The problem was that I had been to
so many summer camps before, and my mom always gave me the same exact lunch.
Oh, the girl shrugged, That sounds delectably good. I got the same boring old
spaghetti. Actually, the spaghetti is not really spaghetti. She also adds some more
special sauces. So, do you want to switch lunches? OK, I said. I gave her my lunch,
while she gave me her lunch. I never got your name, by the way. I mumbled my mouth
full of the amazing pasta that was as good as heaven. Oh yeah! she exclaimed, her
mouth also filled with food. My name is Adrija! What s your name? she gulped down
the tortilla. My name s Soumily, I told her. She seemed like a nice person to be
Character Analysis Of Tangerine
Setting Tangerine county is in florida. It is known for its tangerines and for lightning
strikes. The Fisher family just moved in here to Lake Windsor from Houston Texas.
The scenery was not what Paul had expected at all, and I stared out the window,
fascinated by it. We passed mile after mile of green fields overflowing with tomatoes
and onions and watermelons. I suddenly had this crazy feeling like I wanted to bolt
from the car and run through the fields until I couldn t run any more. I said to Mom,
This is Florida? This is what it looks like? Mom laughed. Yeah. What did you think it
looked like? I don t know. A beach with a fifty story condo on it. Well, it looks like
that, too. Florida is a huge place. We will be living in a area that is more like this one.
There are still a lot of farms around. (page 7 8)There is also a ton off muck fires in

Jimmy John Surgery Persuasive Speech
Wouldn t you like to know the wonders of arm injuries?

There are a few pitchers who have to undergo Tommy John surgery. Most of the time
after Tommy John surgery the pitcher is out for a year or two. There is a growing
belief, though, that recovery time isn t sufficient after many Tommy John procedures,
thanks to an erroneous idea that crept into the sport in recent years that pitchers need
only 10 18 months to come back from a UCL replacement, whereas accepted standard
time to return from a Tommy John procedure in medical circles is 16 20 months.
Many pitchers come back before they are assigned. That is why they have so many
arm injuries in the long run. There are more guys going through this and it s better to
err on the side of giving more time. Even with a first Tommy John, people expect a
100 percent success rate, and while the odds are very good, it s not 100 percent. They
come in expecting to able to be the way they were before the surgery. Pitchers need to

More pitchers are going through the procedure a second time, and aside from the
mental and physical toll it takes on players. They still try to pitch through the pain an
end up getting hurt again. It s a one percent rate in the literature, one out of 100
Tommy Johns requires a second surgery. Most surgeons do a good job on their arms.
Pitchers have the worst trouble after the first surgery when their arms hurt bad enough
so they have to have a second surgery. Pitchers don t see the struggle your arm is going
through when they keep pitching through it. It really was a battle every time out. There
was a string of games where I had to give some extra effort late. He was pitching through
the pain. As a pitcher in the big leagues you re dealing with minute aches all the time.
Your arm usually hurts when you pitch without a break. Pitchers should rest when their
arms are giving them
Ronald Reagan Deployed Troops In Grenada
On October 25, 1983 Ronald Reagan sent 1,000 troops to the island of Grenada to
ensure the safety of Americans studying medicine in the local hospital. In 1979,
Maurice Bishop took power in Grenada and had close relations with Cuba which was
communist. Bishops was then assassinated by Bernard Coard who established a
communist government. This is the reason that Reagan deployed troops in Grenada. He
didn t want the influence of a Marxist government on the Americans. Many Americans
were unsure of the invasion. But Reagan saw it as a victory because they were able to
roll back Communist influence in the area. Coard s government fell apart and the US
brought in a leader who was approved by the United States. We also brought back the
