1. In your own words, explain the meaning of communicative competence.
Ans. Communicative competence refers to the ability to use language in real-life situations, not
just knowing words and grammar rules. It involves not only understanding and producing words
and sentences, but also being able to use language appropriately in different social and cultural
situation. It's about being able to express ourselves clearly, understand others, and navigate
various communication challenges.
