QUESTION 1
A traverse was carried out and the results of the survey are as show in Table 1:
Table 1

1-2 56°22’ 00” 67.001

2-3 101°33’ 10” 79.786

3-4 195°15’ 50” 109.329

4-5 279°42’ 00” 103.274

5-1 357°06’ 40” 67.022

i. Sketch the traverse base on table given

ii. Determine the linear misclosure of the traverse
iii. Calculate each adjusted latitude and departure by using Bowditch method

Given gradient 1: 120. Based on data at table 2, calculate: -

i. Reduce level for each chainage
ii. Invert level of chainage B and C if invert level A is 34.00m
iii. Setting out invert level for staff readings at A, B and C.

QUESTION 3
Calculate the data to connect two straights ways by a circular curve with 600 m radius. The chainage of the
intersection point of two straights is 2140.000 m with an angle of deflection of 18º 24’. The setting out is to be done
with a peg interval 20 m.
Prepare the suitable table setting out curve using the deflection angle method.
