COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICE

NAME OF ACTIVITY: Students’ Community Engagement Orientation


VENUE: Cor Jesu College-Basic Education Campus
PARTICIPANTS: Basic Education Students and Personnel
• I. RATIONALE

It is important for the stakeholders to understand the endeavors of the school, especially
with the community engagement programs. Orienting them, especially the students, will make it
easy for the school to organize activities connected to community engagement activities.
Students and parents will also understand when they are asked to contribute or donate something
for the benefits of the adopted communities. Additionally, it will also make the stakeholders
willing to participate in different community engagement activities that they will be asked to
participate. Also, they see meaning and essence of the activities conducted by the school in
connection to community engagement programs.
It is because of the above reasons that CJC-BED find it significant to conduct an
orientation about the school’s community engagement programs.

• II. OBJECTIVES:

The activity aims to:

• Make the student gain knowledge on the community engagement programs that the
school has
• Present the five key areas of community engagement programs
• Identify possible activities to conduct in relation to the five key areas of community
engagement

III. METHODOLOGY

The following actions were done in presenting the community engagement programs of the
school
• The Community Engagement Coordinator and the Student Activity Coordinator present
the Community Engagement Programs to the different club officers
• The Community Engagement Coordinator presents the Community Engagement
Programs to the different sections
• Club Moderators were also oriented on the Community Engagement Programs

• IV. NARRATIVE/HIGHLIGHTS:

The different personalities in the school, who are needed to be informed on community
engagement programs, were informed and made knowledgeable on the school’s endeavors to
community engagement

Any mechanism was used to make the information on community engagement to the
stakeholders of the school.
• V. INSIGHTS/REFLECTIONS

Understanding helps much. Making the stakeholders understand the importance of


community engagement surely will enable them to see the essence of community
engagement and be will to organize and/or participate in any community engagement
activity.

• VI. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT



• There is always a need to strengthen the organizing of the community engagement
activities
• Constant follow ups to school’s club moderators and officers in order to make
community engagement one of their priorities
