Prototyping Development Stage

(Narrative Report)

After our group conceptualized the function of our product, we decided to create
our own design of the product based on our ideas individually. Among our illustrations,
we chose the most feasible one, which is what we agreed to produce. Samuel's design
(Figure 1), which is shown above, is the design that the group agreed upon to construct as
an output. To bring the team's ideas to reality, he designed the model using Tinkercad.
Using Tinkercad, it allowed them to have a 3D view of the design, which had been a
helpful reference for them in creating its actual appearance.

Our group conducted a brainstorming session to identify the materials that are
necessary to build the façade of the intended product. At the end of the discussion,
illustration boards, bond papers, glue sticks, glue gun, marker, rulers, pencils, scissors,
and cutter are the items that we agreed to bring for the face-to-face making of our
prototype.

On the day of our product making, our group proponents divided the work; some
were tasked with measuring the illustration boards to make an outline, some with cutting
through the outline, others with gluing the components together, and one was tasked with
taking the group's lead—me. Each one of us was highly participative—everyone shared
their ideas and opinions, and those thoughts were heard, which is the reason we were able
to complete the model of our product. The photo above is the prototype that we
assembled during our face-to-face project making.
By way of conclusion, the prototyping development stage not only allowed us to
have an actual conception and physical view of the product, but it also merged our minds
to create a product that can help society, the environment, and the global community.
Every group member's effort—even the micro ones—created a macro impact to bring our
ideas to life. And with this product, we can now help our community reduce the amount
of litter and educate people about proper waste disposal.
