Valencia gets at least 300 days of
sunshine a year. If we also told you
that the average temperature here is
19º, don't you think you should
include our beaches in your tour of
Valencia? Whenever you come, be
sure to pack a swimsuit and get ready
because with so much variety, the
hardest part will be choosing which
beach to start with.

4
Looking for beaches with
atmosphere? Then Malvarrosa and
Cabanyal are your best bet. In
addition to sunbathing and going for a
dip within a stone’s throw from
downtown, here you can take in the
beach culture like a local. Take a stroll
along the seaside walk connecting
the two beaches and choose one of
its many restaurants to satisfy your
inner gourmet with a good rice dish or
seasonal seafood tapa.

5
Looking for something a little
wilder? We got you covered! Just 10
kilometers away from the city,
sheltered in the l’Albufera Natural
Park, a sandy patch with natural
dunes and abundant vegetation hides
some of our wildest beaches: Saler,
Devesa, Garrofera... Feel the fine
sand between your toes and you will
soon understand why they are
preferred by fans of water sports.

6
You can get to all the
beaches by using the public
transport network, which is
included without limits in
the València Tourist Card.

Discover Valencia's
urban beaches
The city of Valencia has beaches
that offer all kinds of services. At any
time of the year and just minutes
away from downtown are the
beaches of Cabanyal, Malvarrosa
and Patacona, which you can get to
on urban buses, tram, car, or simply
by walking or cycling.

9
Next to them is the Paseo
Marítimo (seaside walk), which
has become one of the city's
preferred leisure areas and where
you can enjoy walking, skating,
running or sunbathing, and of
course, savor delicious paellas
and fresh fish stews.

10
1. EL CABANYAL BEACH

If you're looking for excitement, this is

the beach for you, with plenty of
restaurants, entertainment venues
and accommodations. It is also a
literal step away from the Marina de
Valencia. Easy to get to and offering
every service for bathers, including
umbrella and lounger rental, it is
accessible to people with disabilities,
all the way to the water.

11
It has sports areas, game areas for
children and a specific area where
you can practice your favorite sports
safely. Some establishments along
the seafront become a meeting point
for evening drinks.
Experience it for yourself!

12
2. LA MALVAR-ROSA BEACH

Its spaciousness, the fine golden

sand and easy access from all over
the city make it one of the locals'
preferred beaches. It has all the
services a beachgoer could hope for:
umbrella and lounger rental,
refreshment stands... And it's the
most suitable for visitors with reduced
mobility, who can go from the seaside
walk to the water.

13
The range of outdoor activities is
unrivalled, with fitness and CrossFit
classes and everything you could
want. It also has a separate area for
surfing, paddle surfing, wind
surfing, canoeing... Snorkelers are
free to visit the Malvarrosa reef, and
fans of volleyball can rent one of the
many courts available in the municipal
complex. Exciting, isn’t it? And when
you're done, you'll be ready to hit any
of the restaurants and entertainment
venues along the seafront. A
complete plan!

14
3. LA PATACONA BEACH

Although it belongs to the neighboring

municipality of Alboraia, the
birthplace of the cherished horchata
(yummy!), it's the natural extension of
Malvarrosa beach. It has an
accessible area for people with
reduced mobility and all kinds of
services, including umbrella and
hammock rental. In addition, if you
drop by Patacona early in the day or
at sunset, you could very well come
across something out of a picture
postcard, as you see a group of
people riding by on horseback along
the shore. What an image!

15
And if you get hungry, don't worry,
because there are plenty of places
nearby to eat and have fun. The
seaside walk has a great
atmosphere all year round, especially
on weekends. Just five minutes away
from this beach you can visit one of
the best-preserved stretches of
L'Horta Valenciana, one of the
highlights of the local landscape and
breadbasket of the region. Let's go!

16
4. MARINA DE VALENCIA

The city's old port is today the

Marina de Valencia, a public space
of one million m2 open to innovation
and marine activities. Located next
to the seaside walk of Playa del
Cabañal, La Marina de Valencia
has become an emerging socio-
cultural hotspot in the city. Culture,
education and entrepreneurship exist
alongside sport, tourism and cuisine
along a stretch of waterfront that is
staking its claim as a hub of
innovation.

17
In the docks of Valencia, historical
buildings such as the port
warehouses, the Clock Building and
the old drydock coexist with the most
modern architectural proposals such
as the iconic Veles e Vents, a cultural
and gastronomic multi-purpose
space designed by the architects
David Chipperfiled and Fermín
Vázquez.

18
In addition to exhibits, dance, art and
music, Veles e Vents also serves up
excellent cuisine in the
Mediterranean restaurant La
Marítima, the Malabar beer bar and
the gourmet culinary offerings of La
Sucursal. There are many more
restaurants and hotels nearby.

19
RESTAURANTS TO REPLENISH YOUR
STRENGTH WITH AN OCEAN VIEW

You were no doubt planning to eat a

paella. But what you probably didn't
know is that our most recognized dish
is much more enjoyable by the
seaside. That's why we recommend
the restaurants along the beach, with
panoramic views of the
Mediterranean. Wherever you go,
you'll love it!

The wildest and most

natural beaches around
València
If you're looking for wilder beaches,
just 10 kilometers from Valencia, in
the heart of the L'Albufera Natural
Park, is El Saler Beach, a long sandy
beach with natural dunes and
abundant vegetation. The Playa
de l'Arbre del Gos, near the first
dunes of the natural park, is another
option. Offering all the services, it
also has a bicycle path for the more
active types.

23
While in the area, be sure to visit the
Playa de Pinedo, a traditional fishing
village, the Playa de la Garrofera or
the Playa de la Devesa, pristine
ecosystems just 15 minutes away
from the city.

24
1. THE L'ALBUFERA
NATURAL PARK

It's just 10 km away from the city.

Pure nature, dreamy sunsets, boat
rides, the ultimate escape... like an
urban oasis surrounded by rice
paddies and forests.

25
HOW TO GET TO L'ALBUFERA
NATURAL PARK

You can reach l'Albufera on lines 24

and 25 of the EMT city buses. Line 24
takes you to El Palmar, and line 25 to
El Perellonet from downtown
Valencia, in less than an hour and for
only €1.50 each way , or free with the
Valencia Tourist Card. You can get off
at the Embarcadero or El Palmar
stops and enjoy a traditional boat ride
on the L'Albufera lake.

26
Did you know that l'Albufera is the
exact place where the paella was
invented?
Drop by the village of El Palmar and
sample its typical dishes. Try the all-i-
pebre (fish with garlic and pepper
sauce), the llisa adobada (marinated
ray) and experience a new approach
to food: enjoying it while
understanding its origin.

27
El Palmar is the best place
to try an authentic
Valencian paella made with
local ingredients, and enjoy
a traditional boat ride on
board an albuferenc.

2. LA DEVESA BEACH

If you're dying to discover an

authentic wild beach, surrounded by
dense vegetation and far from the
hustle and bustle of big cities, look
no further: what you need is
La Devesa.
One of the greatest charms of this
place comes from its prime location,
framed between two immense
aquatic spaces, the Mediterranean
Sea and the L'Albufera, the largest
freshwater lake in Spain.

31
Such is the magic that bathes this
beach that the ordinary becomes
extraordinary.
Given its 5-kilometer length, you can
go anywhere at your leisure. It's in the
most protected area of the Natural
Park, with a rich landscape and
surprising local and seasonal wildlife.
It will certainly be worth your while to
take a bike and ride to the nearby
Racó de L'Olla Interpretation Center,
where you can see all kinds of birds
in their natural habitat.
You won't regret it!

32
3. EL SALER BEACH

Imagine a long stretch of white sand

shining in the summer sun amidst an
endless succession of dunes. Well,
imagine no further. It's El Saler beach.
Stimulating, isn't it? Although it's very
easy to get to from Valencia, and you
can access it in a few minutes by bus,
car or bike, the distance to the city is
one of its main attractions.

33
Here you can take in some serious
peace and quiet. The leafy pine
forests that surround it help endow
the whole setting with a unique
beauty.
The closest part to the beach of
l'Arbre del Gos, the one to the left of
the old hotel Sidi, is frequented by
bathers who practice nudism.

34
4. L'ARBRE DEL GOS BEACH

Walking along the dunes of this

magnificent beach is a most natural
experience. Since it is further away
from the city, between the beaches of
Pinedo and El Saler, it's not very
crowded, so you'll be able to relax as
you please.
One of its highlights is a cycle path
next to the seaside walk. Take a ride
on the wild side and explore the
nearby routes that go into the
L'Albufera Natural Park. Pure joy!

35
5. LA GARROFERA BEACH

It's a dream of dunes and pine

forests that extends along more than
two and a half kilometers of fine
golden sand. It's home to the
characteristic Mediterranean low
scrub vegetation, typical of coastal
settings, which gives it a feeling of
isolation and tranquility that
captivates those who visit it.

36
But don't relax too much. You're in
the heart of the L'Albufera Natural
Park and it wouldn't hurt to combine
the beach experience with exploring
the wetland and its beautiful
landscapes. You can come by bus,
car or bicycle.

6. PINEDO PUEBLO BEACH

If your pet is everything to you and

you can't imagine a day at the beach
without him/her, you're in luck! Pinedo
Beach is your best option because it's
the only beach in Valencia with a
stretch set aside for your "faithful
companion".
"PlatjaCan", as it is called, is in the
area closest to the Valencia Yacht
Club and the mouth of the Turia
River. During the summer season,
bathing is allowed from 9:30 a.m. to
7:30 p.m. Woof!

38
If naturism is your thing, at the other
end, on the stretch between the so-
called "black house" and the old
Plexi factory, there is a nudist area.
Pinedo Beach is the first beach you'll
find if you leave the city heading
south.
It's easily accessible by bus, car or
bicycle, our favorite option. And it
won't take you more than 15
minutes on the bike path.

39
7. EL PERELLONET-RECATÍ

If water sports are your thing, then

Perellonet-Recati Beach is for you.
It's the only one with two areas set
aside for all those sports you enjoy so
much: surfing, standup
paddleboarding, windsurfing,
canoeing...
And a specific one for kiteboarding.
As long as you're here, why not go
flying over the sea?

40
If you don't know how but wouldn't
mind learning, you can take some
lessons right here.
If on top of this we add the fact that
you can lie down to sunbathe on a
beach of fine golden sand, near the
rice paddies with all kinds of amenities
and a wide range of cuisine options...
Who would want to miss this?
