Translation Exercise (Pali to English) (Ven ) Jao nyāna

vaṃsa

1. sămanerno bhattam bhunjatu.


Let a novice eat food.
2. Samano vihāre viharatu.
May a monk stays at monastery.
3. tvam sukhito bhavahi.
May you be happy.
4. Sabbe sattā sukuită hontu,avyāpajjā hontu.
May all beings be happy, be free from mental suffering.
5. bhavatu sabba mangalam, rakkhantu sabba devatā.
May all good blessings are caused ,may all the deities are
guarded.
6. gaccha (gacchahi) ävuso tvam gāmam.
May your brother go to the village.
7. desetu bhante bhagavā dhammam.
May venerable sir preach the teaching of Buddha .
8. dadahi me gāmavaram.
Let me donate in the village.
9. aham avero homi, avyävajjo homi, anigho homi.
May I be free from enmity and danger,be free from mental
suffering, and be free from physical suffering.
10.sabbe sattă avera hontu, avyāvajjä hontu, anīghā hontu.
May all beings be free from enmity and danger,mental suffering
and physical suffering.
English to Pali

1. Let him go to the town.


tvaṃ gāmo gacchãhi.
2. May he free from suffering.
so avyāpajjo hotu.
3. May you be happy and healthy.
tvaṃ sukhito bhavāhi,ānămayo bhavāhi.
4. Let the children play happily.
bhālā sukhito kīḷanti.
5. Let the people come to the temple.
manussā vihāre āgacchanti.
6. May the gods protect you all.
devatā sabbā tumhe rakkhanti.
7. May all beings have good blessings.
sabbe sattā sabba mangalaṃ hontu.
8. May you reach to the heaven.
tvaṃ nibbano saṃpāhi.
9. May the result of good merit be the support of reaching Nibbana.
Itaṃ mepunñaṃ nibbanasa paccayo hontu.
10.Let the monks go to inside village slowly.
samanā anto gāme mantaṃ gacchanti.
