Enthusiastic and dedicated student teacher with a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive
learning environment. Currently pursuing my Bachelor's in science (Honours) in education (Design
Graphics and Construction) at ATU Galway, equipped with a solid foundation in educational theory
and classroom management. Demonstrated ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse
learning styles while integrating technology to enhance the educational experience. Proven
adaptability in handling challenges and collaborating with colleagues to create a dynamic and
supportive educational atmosphere. Seeking an opportunity to contribute my skills and passion for
education to a progressive and student-centered teaching environment.

I taught Wood Technology in Junior Cycle and Design Graphics and Communication in senior cycle.
I participated with team teaching the leaving cycle construction class I was also involved with the
sports teams in the school both Gaelic and football.

Deele College, Raphoe, Co Donegal December 2022- February 2023


I taught Wood Technology to both first and second years throughout my time at this school. I was
involved in the resource centres in the school helping students with special needs.

Mulroy College, Milford, Co Donegal September 2021- December 2021


I taught Wood Technology to a second-year group in my time at the school. I also worked as a
substitute teacher throughout my time in the school.

Other Experience
Knockalla caravan park Magherawarden, Portsalon. May 2023-August 2023
Overview
I worked as a maintenance worker throughout the summer cutting grass and general site maintenance,
dealing with customers, and working as part of a team. I also worked as security at night in the suite
to ensure there was no messing.

Key responsibilities
 Played a key role in fostering a collaborative team environment, resulting in improved
communication and an increase in overall team productivity.
 Played a key role with site management as I was doing the security at night, this has improved
my classroom management and dealing with situations.
Knockbrack Developments Portsalon May 2015-August 2022
Overview
I worked as a laborour with the company every summer since I started secondary school this has
greatly improved my wealth of knowledge in the construction industry which will stand for me when I
begin teaching Construction Studies.

Key Responsibilities
 I worked collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the work was completed on time.
 I was also in charge of the materials on the site, I had to ensure that we always had enough in
stock and did not run out.

Family Farm
I live on a farm where we run 60 suckler cows and 250 sheep, I feel this improves my work ethic and
time management and my planning which is key for the farm to run successful. The farm is run by
myself my father and my brother this also improves my teamwork as we are constantly working as a
team to complete the daily tasks.

Additional Achievements
 I have completed the Nurturing Excellence in Student Teachers (NEST) mentoring program in
my final year in ATU.
 I have completed the Safe pass course with Donaghy safety training.
 I have completed my manual handling course.
 I have completed a wood turning with Willy Creighton.
 I have supervised the SEC exams in 2022 and 2023.
 I have completed a first aid course.
 I have completed an action research project on the benefits of student led learning.
 I have completed the telehandler course at Donaghy safety training.
