address PETRONAS’s carbon footprint aspiration while designing cost effective solution for high CO2
wells in Malaysia.
Geopolymer Cement aims to tackle 3 challenges:
o Need for a more cost-effective CO2 resistant cement,
o A solution for CCUS well application
o Need for a better sustainable product with reduced contribution to Scope 1 and Scope 3 (G Cement
manufacturing has a high carbon footprint presence, with every 1 ton of cement manufactured
releases 1 ton of CO2)
