1 UNIT: INTRO TO COMPUTERS TOOLS

1.1 E-mail, browsers:

Electronic mail, commonly shortened to “email,” is a communication
method that uses electronic devices to deliver messages across computer
networks. "Email" refers to both the delivery system and individual
messages that are sent and received.
Browser: A browser is an application program that provides a way to look
at and interact with all the information on the World Wide Web. This
includes Web pages, videos and images. The word "browser" originated
prior to the Web as a generic term for user interfaces that let you browse
(navigate through and read) text files online. Many people will use web
browsers today for access to the internet and is seen almost as a
necessity in how many navigate their daily life.

1.2 Word Processor:

A word processor is a device or software program capable of creating, storing,
and printing text documents. It allows users to write and modify text, display it on
a screen, save it electronically, and print it out.

Word processing software is one of the most common technology tools in the
world, allowing users to create resumes and cover letters, business
correspondence, blog posts, novels, and more.

Traditionally, word processors were computer applications downloaded to a

specific number of computers. But as cloud computing has become more
common, so have browser-based word processors. These typically lack the
more advanced features of a traditional program; however, they offer more
flexibility and the ability to collaborate in real time.

1.3 Presentations:
You can deliver a document from Word using the Office Presentation
Service, a free, public service that allows others to follow along in their
web browser. No setup is required. Use your free Microsoft account to get
started.
In Word, open the document you want to share.
Click File > Share > Present Online.
Under Present Online, choose Office Presentation Service.

If you want attendees to be able to download a copy of the document, click

the box next to Enable remote viewers to download the document.
Click the Present Online button.
To send your meeting invitation to attendees, choose one of the following:
Copy Link – and paste it somewhere others can access it
Send in Email
Send in IM – available if you have an IM application installed
When you’re ready to present your document, click Start Presentation.
To end your online presentation, click the Present Online tab, and
choose End Online Presentation.
To confirm that you want to end the presentation, click End Online
Presentation.

2 UNIT: DATABASE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

2.1 Spreadsheet
spreadsheet, computer program that represents information in a two-
dimensional grid of data, along with formulas that relate the data.
Historically, a spreadsheet is an accounting ledger page that shows
various quantitative information useful for managing a business.

2.2 Data base Management

Database Management Systems (DBMS) are software systems used to
store, retrieve, and run queries on data. A DBMS serves as an interface
between an end-user and a database, allowing users to create, read,
update, and delete data in the database.

3 UNIT: INTERNET

3.1 Types of networks and components

Computer network components are the major parts which are needed
to install the software. Some important network components
are NIC, switch, cable, hub, router, and modem. Depending on the type of
network that we need to install, some network components can also be
removed. For example, the wireless network does not require a cable.

3.2 Cloud connection

Simply put, cloud connect is a connection between a private network and a
public cloud. In the past, all connections to the cloud were from a public network
into a public cloud, but with the rise of new technologies, different types of
clouds have become available, including public, private, and hybrid.

3.3 Elements of Internet of Things

all complete IoT systems are the same in that they represent the
integration of four distinct components: sensors/devices, connectivity, data
processing, and a user interface. We'll outline what each one means in the
sections below and how they come together to form a complete IoT
system.

3.4 Industrial Internet of the Things,

The industrial internet of things (IIoT) refers to interconnected sensors,
instruments, and other devices networked together with computers'
industrial applications, including manufacturing and energy management.

3.5 Security IIoT
Industrial IoT is an ecosystem of devices, sensors, applications, and
associated networking equipment that work together to collect, monitor,
and analyze data from industrial operations. Analysis of such data helps
increase visibility and enhances troubleshooting and maintenance
capabilities.
