A. EARTHWORK
Note: Adequate safety precautions for carrying out deep excavation work has
to be taken care by the Contractor.

A-1 Earthwork in excavation in all types of soil, moorum (hard, compacted or soft),
hard clay, broken rock, boulders, hard to very hard rock, etc. at depths up to (-
)30m from ground level as specified below in underground structures like
Primary Crusher house structure, Tunnels, located at the mountains of NALCO
Panchpatmali mines, excavation up to required levels & grades, dressing,
maintaining proper side slopes, complete in all respect as per the
specifications and directions of the Engineer/Consultant in both dry and wet
conditions including necessary pumping/ bailing out of water with adopting,
suitable open type dewatering system, for lowering ground water table
including slush removal etc and transporting the excavated materials to spoil
dumps/fill areas/excavated pits within a lead of 1 km as directed by the
Engineer/Consultant, all tools, plant and labour complete in all respects
(authorised working space, benching and side slopes for the excavation will be
measured and paid under this item.
The excavated earth as required for backfilling shall be stocked at site within a
distance of 1 Km of excavated area.

A-1(a) Same as in item A-1 for excavation done with the help of excavator like EX200 cu m 10,000 -
or equivalent for excavation done in soft soil/moorum up to (-) 30m depth from
ground level by means of bucket attachment or equivalent mechanical means
as approved by the Engineer/ Consultant, including cost of all tools, plants,
labour, etc. complete in all respect:

A-1(b) Same as in item A-1 for excavation done with the help of excavator like EX200 cu m 25,000 -
or equivalent for excavation done in disintegrated / soft rock up to (-)30m depth
from ground level by means of compressor breaker / rock breaker / chiesel /
ripper attachment or equivalent mechanical means as approved by the
Engineer/ Consultant, including cost of all tools, plants, labour, etc. complete in
all respect:

A1(c) Same as in item A-1 for excavation done with the help of excavator like EX200 cu m 55,000 -
or equivalent for excavation done in hard to very hard rock up to (-)30m depth
from ground level by means of compressor breaker / rock breaker / chiesel /
ripper attachment or equivalent mechanical means as approved by the
Engineer/ Consultant, including cost of all tools, plants, labour, etc. complete in
all respect:

Note for item A-1(a), A-1(b), A-1(c)

1. Excavation will be measured and paid as per the approved excavation plan
or as per actuals whichever is less.

A-2 (a) Backfilling in layers not exceeding 300mm thickness at all depths around Cum 80,000 -
foundations & pits, pipe trenches, tunnels, sewer lines, in plinth, etc. with
approved excavated material obtained within a lead of 2 Km including
reclaiming from spoil heaps at all heights, or reclaiming from dump at all
depths, transporting, depositing and dressing, complete in all respect all as per
drawings, specifications and directions of the Engineer/Consultant, all tools,
plant, labour etc. complete in all respect including compacting up to 90%
proctor density by using vibro rollers / other mechanical means, etc complete.
as directed by the Engineer/Consultant.

i) Extra for lead beyond 2Km for every 1 Km additional lead. Cum QRO

A-3 Disposal of excess excavated earth by mechanical means at the location

approved by engineer / Consultant within a specified lead including, loading by
Mechanical means, unloading, dozing, levelling at the site of filling, storing in
proper soil heaps by mechanical/equivalent means, etc. complete.

a) within a one way lead up to 2 Km. cum 45,000 -
