Advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city

These days, large cities are becoming more inhabited. Many people move to live in
huge cities because of the benefits that they provide, but despite these benefits, the
city has its drawbacks as well. This essay discusses the pros and cons of living in a
big city.

On the one hand, the main positive thing is that it has a large amount of shops,
cafes, and other facilities. For example, wherever you live, there are some useful
stores where you can get everything you need without having to go to the city
center. Another advantage is public transport. Most cities have buses, subways,
plenty of taxis, or trains, these options allow you to get wherever you need to go.
Moreover, such transport as buses or trains is cheap and affordable.

On the other hand, noise pollution could be one of the major disadvantages of living
in a big city. These cities frequently have overcrowding, heavy traffic, and airports
with loud planes flying in and out. Additionally, loud concerts or events contribute
to the noise as well. Furthermore, with a high population density, housing costs are
usually expensive, making it difficult for many people to afford decent living spaces.

To sum up, living in a big city has its both considerable advantages and
disadvantages. Large cities have a lot to offer in terms of opportunities and
experiences, but they have a set of challenges such as noise pollution,
overcrowding, and high living expenses too. No food for thought.
