I , Sanyogita Jadhav of grade 11, the basis of writing this letter to you is to kindly grant me

permission for a leave of 7 days as my sister is getting married and I have to move out of the town
for the wedding. My sister’s wedding is scheduled to take place from 3 rd of march to 10 th of march
in goa due to which I wouldn’t be able to attend my lectures at the college during the same period .
the wedding coming over in my family involves close kith and kin relations because of which I cant
let it go. I have informed about the same to the respective subject professors. I take it upon myself
as my humble duty to resume college immediately after the programme and complete my
assignments before the due date. I assure you that there would be no negligence from my side on
my part of schooling and education.

I sympathetically request you to award me leave from 3rd march -10th march. Thanking you in
anticipation .

Eat to live and not live to eat

Man since ages has been a slave to his tongue. Not just because it slips while he talks but also
because his tongue keeps on craving for more and more palatable cuisines. People find it hard to say
no to the delicious food platters being served on the table. The proverb ‘…..’ aims to communicate
that the true essence of eating is to support your life processes and maintain a healthy body. But
nowadays people keep on welcoming food on their plates –‘saying count memories and not
calories’. There is nothing wrong in consuming food for pleasure but we should know where to draw
a line so as to avoid overconsumption. Our fast paced lives don’t permit us to maintain regular
exercise routines and hence it becomes our responsibility to limit our food intake. Overconsumption
of food and calories pave for us the path to serious health conditions like obesity and cholesterol.
Eating shouldn’t be disguised as the purpose of life. More than half of the world population lacks
access to a proper meal twice a day . Under nourishment has held their lives in clutches of death
and on the contrary the other half of population just keeps eating off their plates until being served.
Maybe in this situation of crisis we can walk an extra mile in name of humanity and share our excess
food supply with the needy. Hence we should remember the underlying message of the proverb and
eat to support our body and health and not walk into gluttony and plumpness under name of
incessant love for food.
