1) At first I will speak about geography and location.
The Czech Republic is situated in
the middle of Europe and it's the heart of Europe. Our country has borders with Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland. The Czech Republic is divided into three parts: Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. There are many mountains, for example Krkonoše where our highest mountain is the Sněžka. There are also beautiful forests, rivers such as the Labe, the Vltava and The Morava. There are also many ponds and lakes, which are mainly in south Bohemia, for example the pond Rožmberk and the Čertovo jezero. National parks in our country are Krkonoše, Šumava and many other parks. The Czech Republic has a mild climate with four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Secondly I would like to speak about political structure and national symbols. This country is a small democratic and parliamentary state where the head of state is the president. First Czech president was Václav Havel, who was one of the greatest person in history. The second was Václav Klaus, the third Miloš Zeman and Petr Pavel has been elected this year. The currency is the Czech crown and people speak Czech there. It's a member of the European Union (EU), NATO and OSN. Our national symbols are the national flag with national colours (blue, white and red), the crown jewellery, the national anthem called Kde domov můj and the national seal. The Czech Republic also has a very rich history. I would like to mention the Velvet revolution in 1989, because it changed our history and ended communism. 2) Thirdly, I will speak about Prague.
