FAQ about San Miguel Foods Electronic Gift Stubs

1. Why is San Miguel Foods issuing electronic gift (e-gift) stubs?

The e-gift stub, made possible by Quick Response (QR) Code technology, enables contactless product
redemption. In addition, e-gift stubs are easier to distribute and more convenient to redeem.

2. Why is the e-gift stub password-protected?

The password requirement for opening your e-gift file and redeeming your products ensures that only
the e-gift owner and the person deliberately authorized can use it.

3. What is my e-gift stub password?

Your Employee Number is your password for:


A. Opening the e-gift, and
B. Redeeming your San Miguel Food Products

Your employee number is also the default password to your e-gift stub account at https://egift-
smits.synermaxx.asia/login. If you have changed the login password on this site, please note that it does
not affect or update the password for 3. A&B.

4. Can I ask someone to redeem the e-gift stub for me? Do I need to prepare an authorization letter?

You can ask someone else to claim your San Miguel Food products. There is no need for an authorization
letter. However, please note that your e-gift stub is your responsibility. Please keep the e-gift stub/QR
Code AND password secured and known only to you and your authorized person. Do not leave a record
of your e-gift stub/QR Code and password with the redemption outlet.

5. Am I required to claim all the items simultaneously, or can I make partial redemptions?

You can redeem your products fully (all at the same time) or partially. However, to ensure the smooth
facilitation of your redemption and minimize your visit to the redemption outlets, we highly encourage
you to redeem ALL products simultaneously. Ensure to keep all the Refrigerated Meat and Ready-To-Eat
products frozen if they are not consumed immediately.

6. How can I get a copy of my e-gift/QR Code? i.e., my inbox is full; I didn’t get the e-mail; or I
received the e-mail, but, I accidentally deleted it.

You can perform the following to get a copy of your e-gift stub:

A. Obtain your e-gift stub through your e-gift account; log in at https://egift-
smits.synermaxx.asia/login; use your registered e-mail as username and employee number as
the initial password, OR
B. Request your e-gift stub to be resent. However, since we do not have the capability to validate
the security of a personal e-mail account/s, resending will be done only to the employee’s or HR
representative’s San Miguel work e-mail.

They may be unable to attend to your request immediately, but expect a response within 24
hours.

7. I’ve misplaced a printed copy of my e-gift stub. How can I prevent its unauthorized usage?

Your e-gift has a password, which will be required upon redemption. The password mitigates the risk of
e-gift/QR Code usage by anyone other than you or somebody you have deliberately authorized.
However, if you believe the security of your e-gift is compromised, you can have your QR Code blocked.
The replacement QR Code will be subject to a re-generation fee of P100.00. To request the blocking of
your QR Code, please send an e-Gift Stub Cancellation Form to mcureg@smits.sanmiguel.com.ph and
hduque@smits.sanmiguel.com.ph.

8. What happens if I can't access my e-gift stub/QR Code during redemption?

You do not have to be connected to the internet during the product redemption. However, you must
have the screenshot (or printout) of your e-gift stub/QR Code AND your password. It is the redemption
outlet that needs to be connected to the internet to be able to scan your QR Code AND input your
password in the e-gift stub system.

9. How much is my e-gift stub worth?

You may contact your HR Account Officer to know which gift stub package you are entitled to and its
value.

10. Am I allowed to sell my e-gift stub?

Selling the e-gift stub is discouraged as it is intended for the enjoyment of the employee. It is SMC’s way
of thanking you for your hard work this year and bringing joy to your Christmas celebration.

11. Can I share the e-gift stub and password with two or more of my friends and relatives so they can
claim it at different locations?

We strongly discourage you from doing this as you may be unable to control what products will be
redeemed by each person with access to your e-gift stub. Each product in your e-gift stub can only be
claimed once.

12. Can I exchange the products in my e-gift stub with other San Miguel Foods products?

The products in your e-gift were carefully selected for you and your family or friends to enjoy. The
redemption outlets have also prepared stocks of these items only. Exchanging them for other products
is not allowed.

13. When is the last day of redemption?

You may redeem your products until Feb 29, 2024.


14. Where can I redeem the products in my e-gift stub?

You may refer to the list of redemption outlets attached to this email.

15. What if the redemption outlet erroneously redeemed a product in my e-gift stub during
redemption?

The employee/e-gift stub holder must submit the Form ‘Redemption Cancellation Form’ mutually signed
with the redemption outlet’s authorized representative. The form shall be submitted to
aponferrada@sanmiguel.com.ph; once validated, the e-gift stub status will be corrected in the system
within 24 hours.

Note: The outlets’ redemption process is 2-steps: [1st step] product selection and redemption and [2nd
step] redemption confirmation; they have been required to show the screen of their device (e.g., laptop
or cell phone) to e-gift employees/stub holders before the 2nd step to avoid erroneous redemption in
the system. Upon presenting your QR Code, you can also demand this verification process from the
outlet. You may also immediately check your e-gift stub right after the redemption through https://egift-
smits.synermaxx.asia/.

16. How ready are the authorized redemption outlets of San Miguel Foods for the QR Code
technology?

San Miguel Foods redemption outlets were properly oriented about the change from paper to e-gift
stubs. In addition, the QR Code technology does not need much of an infrastructure from the
redemption outlets. To process the redemption, the outlets simply need an internet connection and a
computer, tablet, or smartphone.

17. How will San Miguel Foods protect the data privacy of employees in the implementation of QR
Code technology?

San Miguel Foods has limited the collection of personal data to employee name, employee number, and
email address. This information is necessary in the processing and distribution of e-gift stubs. San Miguel
Foods will keep all personal information and treat them with confidentiality (i.e., access to the personal
information will be limited to the Finance Department and will not be visible to the outlets during the
redemption process). The personal information will be deleted in the e-gift stub system in December
2024 (the latest), when the redemption period ends, and the processing of outlets’ billings has been
completed.
