The Sahyadri Institution Innovation Council organized an Electronic Waste Awareness Week from October 12-19, 2023 in association with multiple partners. The goal of the event was to educate students and the community about the environmental impacts of improper e-waste disposal and encourage more sustainable disposal practices. During the event, 65 students and 12 faculty members participated in seminars and workshops. Participants were also able to drop off old electronics in designated collection bins on campus to be safely disposed of and recycled. The outcomes included increased awareness of e-waste issues and positive behavioral changes among the campus community.

Ltd. Bengaluru, SIGMA, IEI-AIML Student Chapter and Sahyadri-IIC. Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, inaugurated the Campaign and enlightened the students by briefing the necessity of e-waste management and its disposal. The major goal of the event is to spread awareness about E-Waste, its consequence on biodiversity and promote responsible electronic waste disposal. The campaign will be held in sahyadri campus till 19th October 2023. During the week sahyadrians can drop off their old and unused electronic devices in the e-waste bin placed near the Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) department after filling the link provided by scanning a QR Code provided in e-waste bin. All such collected bin will be handed over to Sogo Synergy Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru for safe disposal and recycling. Student and Faculties of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) department actively participated in the event.
