Religious Discussion: Christianity

Like my parents, I am Christian. Having been introduced to the faith at a young age, its

teachings have been an integral part of my actions and choices. Several aspects and teachings of

the religion resonate with many views I hold on different issues. Additionally, some of the

aspects are universal and can be applied by anyone regardless of their religion.

The promise of eternal life and forgiveness particularly calls me to religion. Christianity teaches

the forgiveness of all sins through prayer and repentance (Worthington, 2019). Additionally, it

views the world as temporary and a transition into a better and more fulfilling life. As such I hold

the hope of receiving an award for my choices and actions in this life after death.

One more aspect pulls me to religion. Fellowship and togetherness are major

characteristics of Christianity. It's teachings stress on togetherness in times of joy and sorrow. As

such, I have found a good support system for like-minded individuals. I am, therefore, able to

share my pain and joy in an environment of support and love.

The aspect of love is universal and resonates with every religion or style of living.

Christianity insists on the divinity of love and its transformational power. Loving one’s neighbor,

friends, or family can in a significant way increase the quality of an individual’s life. Therefore,

everyone should strive to live in love and treat each other like they would desire or want to be

treated.

In conclusion, several aspects call me to the Christian faith. The promise of forgiveness

assures me of a better life after I am dead. Additionally, it stresses fellowship and togetherness

which has helped secure a good and quality support system. Finally, the aspect of love resonates

with any religion or walk of life.
