facilities that are available and briefly explain whether each facility is contributory to
students’ learning and development or not.

Episode 1.B : THE LEARNER’S SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

Context:
The classroom is the most common physical learning environment for the learner. It is
the physical space where the teaching and learning process occur most often. The
physical arrangement of the classroom, including its associated fixtures, is crucial on
determining the success, or failure of teaching.

Purpose:
The activity will allow you to observe an actual classroom, paying attention to the
arrangement of chairs, tables and other fixtures. Later, you will show in the form of a
drawing how you think should the classroom be improved.
Procedures:
Observe the physical arrangement of the classroom. Write your observations in
paragraph form in the second column.

What to observe: OBSERVATIONS
1. Arrangement of Classroom is the one most of the facility we should
furniture: consider for the learners. To motivate them to learn and
 Teacher’s Table catch their interest.
 Cabinets My observation to the teacher’s table, cabinets, and

The teacher’s table is good enough for the teacher to do
his/her work. It is easy to for the teacher see who is not
listening / doing activities among to his/her students because
his/her table is in the exact position in the classroom. While
the cabinets is usable for keeping of things like scissors,
tapes, medical kit and etc. And the chairs are orderly in
arrange and it’s in a proper location for pupils/ students to
become comportable during the class.
Everything I saw in the video is a classroom with a clean
and have orderly arrangement.
2. Permanent fixtures of I observed the following fixtures of the classroom are so
the classroom desirable.
 Chalkboards Every fixtures are have enough space and comportable
 Bulletin boards space. More over the tv has a exact position in the center
 Science equipment inside the room. So that all the pupils can watch even where
 Laboratory apparatus part of the classroom they sit in. Likewise the chalkboard
 P.E. Equipment have a clean and clear color. The bulletin boards has a
 T.V. beautiful design and attaches all information about the events
in the school includes; birthdays, achievements of learners,
holidays and etc.
3. Lighting Good enough to light up the classroom.

5. Size of the room Every teacher is wishing for a beautiful room and having
enough and comportable size.
In my observation to the size of the room I watched in the
video has a wider and enough space for placing of the chairs
and the table for the pupils or students. Including the
teacher’s table, blackboard, mini-library, and other appliances
and materials inside the room. Also learners allow to explore
inside the room like reading the books in mini-library, reading
the poster, reading the bulletin board for events and
announcement of the school and etc.
The size of the room is the one most important thing to
consider to manage and motivate the learning of the learners.

6. Location of the room Having a good location of the room teacher can make
easy to arrange inside and out of the classroom.
My observation the location of the room I watched, it has
a ground for the learners allowed to play during vacant in the
outside of the room. Have space for planting flowers infront
and have a flowering boxes.
7. Decors The decor makes classroom brighter, beautiful, and

8. Cleanliness Definitely every schools have a clean and nice
sorrounding.
My observation to the cleanliness of the classroom
in the video I watched is orderly arrange the table and chairs.
The floor is clean and shining with wax, the windows are
clear, the curtains are clean with uniform kind, and designs
and the trashcan are segredable.
The classroom have cleanliness can motivate
learners to learn and make them feel free from dirt and trash.
9. Safety The most important we should consider in the
environment is safetiness of the learners. For them to learn
comportable.
In my observation to the safetiness of the school to
the video I watched, learners are safety because feel free
from hazard like sharp edge of metal, undone building and
etc. The mini-bridge is safety for the pupils to walk or pass
through it.
10. Orderliness Orderliness is show in a group or organization
that has a unity.
My observation in the video I watched is every
room I saw have clean and orderliness in and outside.
Everything inside the room are fixes and orderly arranged.

ANSWER:
Effective School Environment
A school environment is a crucial component of student’s life. Schools
should provide students with a safe environment in which to nurture and grow
emotionally, behaviorally and academically; and at the same developing relationships
with others. Each and every student requires structure, respect, stability, limitation and
boundaries and safe environment or an environment. In the school environment, there
are things that positively influence student’s performance. Such things include having
good friends within the school, perceiving that teachers are caring and supportive,
believing that discipline is efficient and fair, participating in extracurricular activities,
being a part of a school and having a sense of belonging. Students become
incorporated in their environment when they perceive that the adults in the school mind
about them as individuals and their learning.

The picture of this school has well-built landscape, there are many and
beautiful plants, many trees, and well-built and well-maintained schools.
As I see in this picture has enough space and formation of the building. So
that children can play and run around the campus. The trees are useful and help to
control the heat of the sun when the whether is summer. The landscaping has a colorful
design.

Every classroom must be clean and orderly arrange. For the pupils/students to
motivate enter and learn inside the room.
In this part of the classroom I see have a beautiful flowers infront of it. The
room has a clean sorrounding.

can see it, most especially to the learners.
In this picture of the classroom is so adorable. The chairs are uniformly
arranged, the charts are glued to the wall, the teacher’s table is in a good location
inside the room, the curtains are neat and the room is clean. While the teacher is busy
to preparing modules for the learners

Classroom is the second home of every students.
This picture as we can see that the teacher’s table is in the center upon
capturing this photo. In the table placing something school supplies and flowers for
display. There’s a clock attaching in the wall for the teacher and learners know the
exact time to start and end the class. And there’s a mini-library inside the room for the
easy to get a book for the learner to read. The chart in the wall are using for more
information to read for the learner.

Simple is beautiful.
As we can see in this picture have a simple design but beautiful. Clean and
orderly arranged the tables and chairs. The tv is in a good location infront, for learner is
able to watch clearly and understand the lesson. The same with the blackboard are
clear. The chart infront and above the tv are national hero chart, national anthem and
panunumpa sa watawat ng Pilipinas.

In this picture we can see the progress chart and the bulletin board. In a
orderly and beautiful design. The progress chart is for posting about the grades or
achievements of the learners. While the bulletin board is for the posting of programs
and activities in the classroom.

In this picture the following that we can see are the medicine cabinet and cleaning
task assignment.
As we observed this are neat and in a good arrangement. We read the cleaning
task assignment is clear for the learners always remind to them their schedule in
cleaning task assignment. To train them and to follow a task given by their teacher.

The picture show the drinking water area. Within this area in the school is help
learner to minimize going outside the room to get water to drink they will be able to
drink and refill their water bottle.

In this picture we see the trash can. As we all know that there is two kind of garbage
do we have are the biodegradable and non-biodegradable. Also in this way we practice
pupils/students by simple separate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable.
They will learn by doing. It’s easy way to teach and they will put in their mind.
And this is very important for them to know. Also they will be able to show how to care
the mother earth. Through disposing garbage in a right way.

As we see in this picture is the cabinet output. This is for putting the output of
the pupils/students.
