Anticipated problems: Form: The text is written in the present time. But certainly there are some new structures (phrases). Meaning: There are some new vocabulary items in the text. Pronunciation: I cannot predict any pronunciation problems in advance. However, during the prereading, post reading and follow-up stages, sts will be actively speaking. Therefore, they may make some pronunciation mistakes as well. Cultural: Megalopolis is a relatively new concept. So, there can be some cultural items about the place mentioned in the text. Solutions: Form: During the pre-reading stage I will preteach some key phrases. Meaning: During the prereading stage I will tackle this problem. I will have them learn the new items. However, during the while reading stage the third activity is about vocabulary guessing. Therefore, I will try to develop sts guessing- from the- context skill. Pronunciation: If any problems occur I will be selective and for some of them I will give immediate feedback. Cultural: This part can be interesting for students to learn a new culture. Materials: Handouts, pictures, ppt, board, boardmarker.
