Aspects of Public Administration

The most important aspects of Indonesian state administration are as follows.

1. State finance (public finance)

State finance is a science of finance regarding the financial aspects of state administration, and is
part of political economy, namely a new branch of economics developed jointly by economic
and political experts by placing government and policy into a cost-benefit perspective. What
must be discussed is the financial organization of central, regional and village authorities, as well
as the decision-making processes regarding revenues and expenditures within government
agencies (rulers), semi-government agencies, and institutions subsidized by the government.
2. State administrative law
What must be discussed is the law regarding government organizations (state administration), the
distribution of authority as one of the juridical instruments for developing and implementing
government policy, determinations and legal protection of citizens and community bodies against
the actions of ruling officials.
3. Sociology of government
What should be discussed is the sociology of rural government and the sociology of urban
governance. In both cases, the spotlight and discussion are carried out on the continuity of
government processes and government structures in various contexts. In the discussion of the
sociology of rural governance, attention should be paid to the influence of local religion,
tradition, and customary law, on organizational structures and government processes.
4. Development economics
Every government/state administration official must have sufficient economic knowledge with
his position, even if it is only basic. At this time, the most suitable for Indonesia, as a developing
country, are the teachings and theories of development economics. This is because modern
economic theory developed and taught in Western countries can no longer be applied in
Indonesia because the structure and culture of the people are very different.
5. Indonesian political history
Theories and methods of political analysis (political science) are used to discuss the development
of politics and governance in Indonesia since 1800, since Indonesia is a unitary state with an area
as large as now.
