History of Camping

The founder of modern recreational camping was Thomas

Hiram Holding, who wrote the first edition of The Camper's
Handbook in 1908. His urge to camp derived from his experiences
as a boy: in 1853 he crossed the prairies of the United States in a
wagon train, covering some 1,200 miles (1,900 km) with a
company of 300.

Different Types of Camping

 Tent Camping - Tent camping is the most basic type of camping that everyone essentially knows about
it involves pitching a tent at a local park, recreational spot, or just about anywhere as long as it is the
great outdoors. Tent camping has come a long way but the very basics of it involve spending a few
nights in nature, enjoying food over a bonfire or your camping set-up, and endless stargazing. There are
not a lot of specific descriptions to meet the ideal setup for tent camping as it often includes a variety of
styles in shared spaces with the idea of spending a night outside. A famous Japanese anime called Laid
Back Camp was something that perfectly describes what it means to get out to capture the true essence
of primitive camping in various campsites around Japan’s forests, lakes, and mountains.

 Backpacking/Hiking Camping - In those days, backpacking would often mean just roughing it out and
finding ways to live out of your backpack with a mix of homestays and sometimes camping in the
mountains. But camping is very much a mainstay in the backpacking world as more people dig the
adventure lifestyle and stay away from the beaten path the idea of backpacking is being as self-sufficient
as possible with preparing everything that’s needed for your long 10-day or 3-week hike in the
mountains. A backpacking or hiking camping trip could be bridged into an ultra-light version where
camping won’t be necessary, you could change it up with a tarp or a bivvy bag.

 Car Camping - Options like car camping are the perfect introductory way to camping in general. All
you need is to go on a road trip or look up national parks where camping is allowed and set up camp at
that spot. You’ll have access to camping sites such as showers or communal areas where you can hang
out with other people or have some level of comfort without forsaking all your necessities! It is also a
really good way to introduce camping to your kids and use it as a way to have some adventure without
going far out in the woods. The plusses include protection from bad weather where waiting it out doesn’t
seem like a bad idea after all if Plan A doesn’t work out!

 Tarp Camping – A tarp tent is essentially a tarpaulin used instead of a tent, one that is rigged with
poles, tent pegs, and guy lines. They often have a place in a hikers bag especially those who love an
extra lightweight setup. There are so many ways to set up a tarp that suits your level of comfort. A well-
known adventurer and creator of micro-adventures, Alastair Humphreys is known for camping it out
with a tarp or a “basha” an army slang for simple shelter made out of a tarpaulin. A basha is the
inclusion of bivvy bags and a tarpaulin to sort of protect you from the elements. It may attract you some
funny looks or people may think geez that’s a genius idea, so don’t worry too much about that and focus
on what works for you.

Equipment used in Camping

 Tent & Tarp

 A tent is a shelter consisting of sheets of fabric or other
material draped over, attached to a frame of poles or a
supporting rope. While smaller tents may be free-standing or
attached to the ground, large tents are usually anchored using
guy ropes tied to stakes or tent pegs. A tarp is an all-purpose
item that is found on almost every camping trip. Specifically,
it is a large piece of water-resistant material that can be placed
under or over things to protect from the elements. Tarps can be
used to make simple tents, pulled over existing tents to protect
from the rain, put under tents to protect the floor from being
damaged, and other protective activities.

 First aid kit -

A first aid kit or medical kit is a collection of supplies and
equipment used to give immediate medical
treatment, primarily to treat injuries and other mild or
moderate medical conditions. Flashlight and Lantern. It
can get dark in the woods since there are no streetlights.
 Flashlights and lanterns - allow campers to see at night.
Lanterns come in many varieties, including battery-powered
and fuelled. Flashlights also come in different styles, including
those with color lenses to avoid damaging night vision and
headlamps that allow campers to use their hands. A flashlight
or torch is a portable hand-held electric lamp. Formerly, the
light source typically was a miniature incandescent light bulb,
but these have been displaced by light-emitting diodes since the
mid-2000s.

 Water bottle - A water bottle is a container that is used to hold

liquids, mainly water, to transport a drink while traveling
or while otherwise away from a supply of potable water. Water
bottles are usually made of plastic, glass, metal, or some
combination of those substances. Water is one of the most
important camping essentials and the further off the beaten path
you go, the more quickly it seems to run out.

DISCUSS THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LARONG LAHI

Traditional Filipino games or indigenous games in the Philippines (Tagalog: Laro ng Lahi) are games
that have been played across multiple generations, usually using native materials or instruments. In the
Philippines, due to limited resources for toys, children usually invent games without needing anything but
players. Different kinds of Philippine Traditional Games are suited for kids, and the games also stand as one of
the different cultural and/or traditional games of the Philippines. These games are not only fun to play, but these
games are also good for you. This is because different games require different skills. These games are also an
important part of Filipino culture. Laro ng Lahi was coined and popularized by the Samahang Makasining
(commonly known as "Makasining") with the help of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts,
Philippine Local Government Units, other organizations, and other institutions. Imparting these Filipino games
to young Filipinos is one of the organization's main activities. The Makasining also created time-based scoring
for patintero, seating, dama, lusalos, and holen, Traditional Philippine games, such as luksong baka, patintero,
piko, and tumbang preso are played primarily as children's games. The yo-yo, a popular toy in the Philippines,
was introduced in its modern form by Pedro Flores with its name coming from the Ilocano language.
CREATE NEW PARLOR GAMES

 In every group choose 5 members to play the game. The mechanics of this game the 5 members should
be create a circle but the twist is they must have their backs to each other. When they all see the table on
the left side that has small balls they will pick it up and move to the right side table that has a 5-standing
glass bottle. Every group that has a short time will be the winner of the game.

 In the middle of two tables should the 5 members start the game. Step by step they need to go to the left
side to take the balls and another twist is the 5 members should be changed in every move they step.
Reminder to every group to be careful it’s just a game that needs to be happy.

 The benefits of this game are simple and we know it’s good for our health to do a simple but challenging
activity.

 When people this game they thought is just a simple parlor game that they thought but is not as they
think, there’s a saying don’t judge the book by its cover. I/we know it’s easy but with every step, you
need to do is have a challenge, as I said in the beginning they need to step, and every member needs to
spin to get the balls and another step together with the members. To the reader who sees this Sir/Mr.
Adigue I/we hope that you will consider this parlor game as a newly invented parlor game.
