The conclusion sentence in each paragraph is the bottom
bun. It may function as further supporting evidence or it CONCLUSION SENTENCE
may sum up the ideas in the paragraph.

the first sentence in each paragraph, which is
also called a "topic sentence" or "key idea."
This gives the reader a clue on what the SUPPORTING EVIDENCE #1
paragraph is about.

are pieces of evidence that reinforce the topic

Loggerhead turtles are fascinating reptiles found around the world. They
are the biggest among turtles with hard shells, with adult males
weighing about 250 pounds. As their name suggests, they have wide
heads with strong jaws to crunch shellfish and enjoy a variety of

These massive turtles have a flair for traveling too! They inhabit the
Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, and even the
Mediterranean Sea. Sandy beaches are their go-to locations for nest

if we do our part of learning more about them and joining efforts to keep our
seas clean and safe for all creatures.
