OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify opinion-marking signals
2. Write sentences with the use of
opinion-marking signals
3. Appreciate a good conversation using
opinion-marking signals
Dyadic Exchange:
Boy 1: Have you watched the new Wakanda movie?
Boy 2: There is a new Wakanda movie? That’s awesome!
But Chadwick Boseman died last August 28, 2020 due to
colon cancer.
Boy 1: Yes I agree with you so I was also sad hearing about it.
In fact that he died while making the sequel that is why the
movie was incomplete.
Dyadic Exchange:
Boy 2: So who will now be the replacing his character?
Boy 1: I believe that somebody will be replacing his character
but I am not sure who will it be.
Boy 2: So when will it be shown?
Boy 1: According to their press release, the movie premiere
will be on October 26, 2022 and its national release will be on
November 11, 2022. So can you come with me to watch it?
Dyadic Exchange:
Boy 2: Hey, that will be great! So let’s go.
Boy 1: Ok, I will buy the ticket and you will buy our snacks.
Boy 2: Not a problem! Let’s go and watch it!
Dyadic Exchange:
1. Find someone to be your partner
2. Think about a topic that you can change ideas on (i.e.
favorite subject, favorite movie, favorite artist/idol,…)
3. On a half sheet of paper, exchange ideas about it using
opinion marking signals
4. Prepare to present your dialogue within 5-10 minutes.
