Babylon 巴比伦

Babylon is an ancient city of Babylonia in Mesopotamia which is one


of the most important cities in the Middle East.

It became legendary in the days of Nebuchadnezzar. The Hanging


Gardens was held as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Its walls,
processional way and the famous Ishtar Gate were decorated with
colorful glazed brick.

The original name of the city was Babel which means confusion.
Babylon was derived from the Greek word derived from the semitic
form bab‐ilu meaning “The Gate of God”.
