Case Study of LEED Certified Building in the UAE:

Bridging Theory and Practice

The objective of this project is to conduct a comprehensive case study of a LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This assignment aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world
application by examining both literature-based information and on-site observations of a live
LEED certified building.
Assignment Structure
1. Introduction: overview of LEED certification, importance of sustainable building
practices in UAE, introduction to the selected LEED building.
2. Literature Review: explore the principles of LEED certification, examine the
environmental and economic benefits associated with LEED certified buildings.
3. Case Study Building Selection: Rationale for selecting the specific building.
Information on building type, purpose, LEED rating etc.
4. LEED Certification Criteria: how did building meet various LEED certification pre-
requisites and cresdits.
5. Challenges and Solutions: any challenges during the certification process or
construction. Solutions implemented.
6. On-Site Observation: visit, document related to sustainable features, energy efficient
systems, waste management and overall environmental impact.
7. Comparison with Theoretical Concepts:
