JEWELLERY, METAL & GLOVE POLICY


Awareness of foreign bodies and the risks that they pose to our products Glass,
metal pieces, wood, stones etc. all are dangerous from food safety point of view.
These can lacerate the mouth (if sharp edged), break /damage teeth (if hard bone or
stone) or even occlude and choke throat (if large & regular in shape).

we have been taking up the issue of foreign bodies in various forums - class room
trainings etc. to drive down the importance of keeping our production areas free of
foreign bodies.

The following things not allowed to be worn inside production areas .

1. Wrist watches.
2. Neck chains.
3. Rings on fingers & Earrings.
4. Dhagas (religious thread tied to wrist or neck)
5. Bindi (forehead stickers) ,Dress that has decorative objects made of plastic, glass,
stone, metal, or similar material and pierced for threading together or sewing
onto fabric.

As these can fall on running lines & break into splinters & cause food safety issues.

The following are the exceptions for jewelry policy.

1. Spectacles if used must be recorded at the entrance of the production and


condition checked before and after the production. Preferred to wear
unbreakable glasses.
2. Men can wear one marriage ring which is continuous, has no engraving and
without stone.
3. Women can wear Naak phool (nose ring/ stud) without any stone.
4. Hindu women can wear shakha (bracelet) but can work only at packaging
area.
