SY 2022 - 2023
Name of Teacher: REYMART A. PUCOLANGAS
Subject: Science 9 – EARTH AND SPACE
Date: MARCH 21, 2023
Class Schedule:
Grade level and Section DAY TIME
G9 KAMAGONG Tuesday 12:40 – 1:40 P.M.

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding of the factors that affect climate,
and the effects of changing climate and how to adapt accordingly.
B. Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to participate in activities that reduce risks and
lessen effects of climate change.
C. Most Essential Learning Explain how different factors affect climate of an area.
Competencies (MELCs): (S9ES-IIIe-29)
D. Intended Outcomes / Specific Describe climate and the factors that affect it.
Objectives:

II. CONTENT:
CLIMATE AND WEATHER AND THE FACTORS AFFECTING IT

Weather refers to the local conditions (temperature/rainfall/wind strength) in a particular region in a small
scale of time. Climate is a long-term pattern of weather in a particular area.

Factors Affecting the Climate of an Area:

-Distance from the sea
-Shape of the Land (Topography)
-Distance from the Equator (Latitude)

students’ attention (motivation);
to arouse interest and curiosity. "What's the current temperature of Baguio?"
 You need to give students
something to think about, raise "Did you know that once upon a time, it reaches a temperature of 9 deg. Celsius?"
“the BIG question/s” and provide
the “HOOK” for why the students
