AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT

Discussion Entries
A. The Learning Phase

Authentic assessment is a form of assessment in which the learner is

required to perform real-life experience by assigning a task that demonstrates
essential knowledge and skills to comply certain standard. This is used to assess
other performances that are not measured by traditional paper-pencil test. The
concentration of authentic assessment is on the process and output
performances.

This assessment is sometimes called performance assessment, alternative

assessment and/or direct assessment.

Examples of authentic assessment

1. Making a portfolio
2. Doing some creative projects
3. Performing particular skill demonstrations
4. Doing some science experiments
5. Solving mathematical problems with real-world implications

IV. Implement assessment strategies.
V. Evaluate results to determine attainment of outcome and ensure
