Module Number 1 Content Topic I. Meaning and relevance of
history, distinction of primary
and secondary sources;
Teacher Mr. Tan Date 03/22/21

PART 1. EVALUATE
1. Differentiate the primary source and secondary source.
Primary sources are those that are the most closely related to the source of the information.
Generalizations, analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of primary sources are frequently used in
secondary sources. Textbooks, articles, and reference books are examples of secondary sources.

2. What is/are external criticism and internal criticism? How can they help for the validity of the
history/events in the past?

External criticism is a method used by historians to assess whether a source is authentic by examining its
validity. After an authenticated source has been subjected to external criticism, internal criticism
examines its reliability. External criticism occurs when historians examine the validity of a source to
determine if it is reliable. This step is crucial when analyzing data because it forces us to consider whether
we can trust the data and use it as a reference point.

PART 2. EXTEND
We cannot deny the fact that your generation is too much attached to social media where everything
can be seen; from entertainment, economics, politics, etc. Whenever you see a news or anything that is
against your belief, how do you react, and what do you usually do?

I get offended if I see something in the news or something that contradicts our beliefs. I will conduct research
into the news to determine whether it is true or false. Under the European Convention on Human Rights,
everyone has the right to express their religion or belief. That means you have the right to wear specific
articles of clothing or symbols at work to show that you follow a particular religion or belief, even if others in
your religion do not.
