Solution:
Q1-2
(P - 100 + P + P + 100)/3 = 800
3P/3 = 800
P = 800
For Item A, SP = 800 - 100 = 700 Rs.
CP = 700 - (180 - X) = (520 + X) Rs.
MP = 700 + (X + 60) = (760 + X) Rs.
(520 + X) × 1.375 = 760 + X
715 + 1.375X = 760 + X
0.375x = 45
X = 120
For Item B, SP = 800 Rs.
CP = 800 - (160 - Y) = (640 + Y) Rs.
MP = 800 + (Y + 80) = (880 + Y) Rs.
(640 + Y) × 4/3 = 880 + Y
2560 + 4Y = 2640 + 3Y
Y = 80
For Item C, SP = 800 + 100 = 900 Rs.
CP = 900 - (200 - Z) = (700 + Z) Rs.
MP = 900 + (Z + 20) = (920 + Z) Rs.
(700 + Z) × 1.275 = 920 + Z
892.5 + 1.275Z = 920 + Z
0.275Z = 27.5
Z = 100
Q1.
CP of Item A = 520 + 120 = 640 Rs.
CP of Item C = 700 + 100 = 800 Rs.
Required % = (800 - 640)/800 × 100 = 20%
Q2.
SP of Item B = (880 + 80) × 0.85 = 960 × 0.85 = 816 Rs.
SP of Item C = (920 + 100) × 0.85 = 1020 × 0.85 = 867 Rs.
Difference = 867 - 816 = Rs. 51
Q3-4
Q3.
In Container C,
Milk = 1.5Y L
Water = 1.5Y × 1/3 = 0.5Y L
In Contained B,
Water = 0.5Y × (360 × 0.25)/54 = 0.5Y × 5/3 = 5Y/6 L
Milk = Y/2 L
5Y/6 + Y/2 = 40
4Y/3 = 40
Y = 30
In Container D,
Milk = 30 - 10 = 20 L
Water = (0.5 × 30) × 144/54 = 15 × 8/3 = 40 L
Water : Milk = 40 : 20 = 2 : 1
Q4.
Central Angle of Quantity of Water in container A = 360 - 144 - 54 - 360 × 0.25 =
162 - 90 = 72°
(50 - Y)/(60 - Y + 10) = 72/144 = 1/2
2 × (50 - Y) = 70 - Y
100 - 2Y = 70 - Y
Y = 30
In container E, Total Quantity of mixture = 50 × 0.6 + 60 × 0.5 = 30 + 30 = 60 L
Quantity of Milk = 30 × 0.6 + (30 - 10) × 0.5 = 18 + 10 = 28 L
% of Milk = 28/60 × 100 = 46.66% = 47%
Q5-6
3Y + 10 = 2Z + 10
3Y = 2Z
Z = 1.5Y
1.5Y = 1.5X/2
X = 2Y
(1.5X + 2X + X)/(1.5Y + 3Y + 10 + Y) = 6/4 = 3/2
2 × 4.5 × 2Y = 3 × (5.5Y + 10)
18Y = 16.5Y = 30
1.5Y = 30
Y = 20
X = 2 × 20 = 40
Z = 1.5 × 20 = 30
Q5.
% of people who bought cake and pizza from all 3 shops = 90/450 × 100 = 20%
Q6.
(450 + n + 2n + 2n) × 0.54 = 220 + n + 2n + 2n
(450 + 5n) × 0.54 = 220 + 5n
243 + 2.7n = 220 + 5n
2.3n = 23
n = 10
New number of people who bought Pizza from shop B = 70 + 20 + 2 × 10
= 90 + 20 = 110
Q7-8
For Bowler A, Overs Bowled = 4000 × 90/360 = 1000
Total Run conceded = 1000 × 2.5 = 2500
Total Wicket taken = 2500/50 = 50
Similarly solve for other bowlers.
Q7.
Economy Rate of Bowler B in remaining over
= (1260 - 250 × 2.4)/(700 - 250) = (1260 - 600)/450 = 660/450 = 1.46
Q8.
For Bowlers C, Economy Rate for Non - maiden overs = 1.75 × 10/7 = 2.5
x = 800 - 1400/2.5 = 800 - 560 = 240
55% of x = 55% of 240 = 0.55 × 240 = 132

4. B
5. B
Solution:
Total Items sold in March = 7620/(1 + 1.31 + 1.5) = 7620/3.81 = 2000
Total Items sold in January = 2000 × 1.31 = 2620
Total Items sold in February = 2000 × 1.5 = 3000
Mufflers sold in January = 2000 × 21/50 = 840
Mufflers made in January = 840/0.7 = 1200
Mufflers made in February = 1200 + 200 = 1400
Mufflers made in March = 1400 - 600 = 800
Mufflers sold in February = 1400 × 0.8 = 1120
Mufflers sold in March = 800 × 0.8 = 640
In January, Jackets made = a, Shirts made = (2600 - a)
a × 0.6 + (2600 - a) × 0.8 = 2620 - 840
0.6a + 2080 - 0.8a = 1780
0.2a = 3000
a = 1500
In February, Jackets made = b, Shirts made = (2500 - b)
b × 0.7 + (2500 - b) × 0.8 = 3000 - 1120
0.7b + 2000 - 0.8b = 1880
0.1b = 120
b = 1200
In March, Jackets made = c, Shirts made = (2500 - c)
c × 0.4 + (2500 - c) × 0.8 = 2000 - 640
0.4c + 2000 - 0.8c = 1360
0.4c = 640
c = 1600
Q1. Difference = 600 - 220 = 380

1500(24 - x)/84000 = 5/14
24 - x = 56 × 5/14 = 20
x=4
(x + y)% of 1750 = (4 + 6)% of 1750 = 10% of 1750 = 0.1 × 1750 = 175
Both statements I and II together are sufficient
Q5.
From Statement I,
Red balls = x, Pink balls = 2x
White balls = 2x – 60
x + 2x + 2x - 60 = 300
5x = 360
x = 72
Rubber balls = 1.25 × 2x = 2.5 × 72 = 180
Plastic balls = 300 - 180 = 120
White Rubber balls = 2 × 72/3 = 48
White Plastic balls = (2 × 72 - 60) - 48 = 144 - 108 = 36 (Statement I alone is not
sufficient)
From Statement II,
Pink balls = (300 - 12)/2 = 288/2 = 144
Red and White balls = 300 - 144 = 156
White Rubber balls = 4/25 × 300 = 48
Plastic balls = 2.5 × 48 = 120
Red Plastic balls = White Plastic balls = x
Pink Plastic balls = x + 12
x + x + x + 12 = 120
3x = 108
x = 36
Pink Rubber balls = 144 - (36 + 12) - 144 - 48 = 96 (Statement II alone is sufficient)
From Statement III,
Red balls = x, Pink balls = 2x
Red Plastic balls = x/2, Red Rubber balls = x/2
Pink Plastic balls = 2x/3, Pink Rubber balls = 2x × 2/3 = 4x/3
White Rubber balls = (x/2 + 12), White Plastic balls = (300 - 3x) - (x/2 + 12) = (288 -
7x/2)
(x/2 + 12) × 5/2 = x/2 + 2x/3 + (288 - 7x/2)
5x/4 + 30 = 2x/3 - 3x + 288
5x/4 + 7x/3 = 258
43x/12 = 258
x = 72
Pink Rubber balls = 4/3 × 72 = 96 (Statement III alone is sufficient)
Either Statement II alone is sufficient or Statement III alone is sufficient.

15. B
16. C
Solution:
Q1-2
(P - 100 + P + P + 100)/3 = 800
3P/3 = 800
P = 800
For Item A, SP = 800 - 100 = 700 Rs.
CP = 700 - (180 - X) = (520 + X) Rs.
MP = 700 + (X + 60) = (760 + X) Rs.
(520 + X) × 1.375 = 760 + X
715 + 1.375X = 760 + X
0.375x = 45
X = 120
For Item B, SP = 800 Rs.
CP = 800 - (160 - Y) = (640 + Y) Rs.
MP = 800 + (Y + 80) = (880 + Y) Rs.
(640 + Y) × 4/3 = 880 + Y
2560 + 4Y = 2640 + 3Y
Y = 80
For Item C, SP = 800 + 100 = 900 Rs.
CP = 900 - (200 - Z) = (700 + Z) Rs.
MP = 900 + (Z + 20) = (920 + Z) Rs.
(700 + Z) × 1.275 = 920 + Z
892.5 + 1.275Z = 920 + Z
0.275Z = 27.5
Z = 100
Difference = 867 - 816 = Rs. 51
Q3-4
Q3.
In Container C,
Milk = 1.5Y L
Water = 1.5Y × 1/3 = 0.5Y L
In Contained B,
Water = 0.5Y × (360 × 0.25)/54 = 0.5Y × 5/3 = 5Y/6 L
Milk = Y/2 L
5Y/6 + Y/2 = 40
4Y/3 = 40
Y = 30
In Container D,
Milk = 30 - 10 = 20 L
Water = (0.5 × 30) × 144/54 = 15 × 8/3 = 40 L
Y = 30
3Y = 2Z
Z = 1.5Y
1.5Y = 1.5X/2
X = 2Y
(1.5X + 2X + X)/(1.5Y + 3Y + 10 + Y) = 6/4 = 3/2
2 × 4.5 × 2Y = 3 × (5.5Y + 10)
18Y = 16.5Y = 30
1.5Y = 30
Y = 20
X = 2 × 20 = 40
Z = 1.5 × 20 = 30
Q5.
% of people who bought cake and pizza from all 3 shops = 90/450 × 100 = 20%
Q6.
(450 + n + 2n + 2n) × 0.54 = 220 + n + 2n + 2n
(450 + 5n) × 0.54 = 220 + 5n
243 + 2.7n = 220 + 5n
2.3n = 23
n = 10
Q8.
For Bowlers C, Economy Rate for Non - maiden overs = 1.75 × 10/7 = 2.5
x = 800 - 1400/2.5 = 800 - 560 = 240
55% of x = 55% of 240 = 0.55 × 240 = 132
